Oh my! I suppose Im the only person who finds this track hilarious? Towards the end I half expect his dog to keel over with a heart attack or hear of the bank repossesing his house! isn't it a Prince giggle?
Surely? Oh c'mon!! | |

One of his best B-sides. Someone earlier in this thread said they wished radio stations played it. Well I've heard it here a few times during the holidays over the years since it was released. Someone said leave it to LIL MAN to create a XMAS song about death...I say leave it to LIL MAN to come up with a XMAS song with the word "horny" in it. This may very well be the only XMAS song in the history of music to have the word "horny" in it.
Anyway, great song. Love the guitar solo at the end of the track too which only adds to the drama and tension. The song plays like a tragic movie in a sense.

The rehearsal version of this song (which features "When The Saints Go Marching In" half way through) has Prince playing some of his most intense guitar soloing I have heard. -----------------------------------------

I think Barry did a good job of producing Dionne Warwick's 1979 album Dionne. "Deja Vu" is one of his greatest acheivements. That song is stellar!!! What a beautiful song. Also have to give credit to Dionne too for laying down her soft smooth vocals. And guess who collaborated with Dionne and Barry on this track?...Issac Hayes, he composed the music. This song is a lost R&B masterwork from 1979.
