A rule of thumb for future reference. If you hear Prince singing a new song that's actually good..... it's a cover. You don't need to do any research. As sure as the sun is hot, a good new Prince song is always a cover.

since the gold experience? ahh no ..there have been countless of songs since the gold experience that beats this cover of crimson and clover imo
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I would definitely not agree with that. Prince has made many songs since The Gold Experience that far superceeds Crimson And Clover. Crimson And Clover, in my opinion, is a decent song, not more, it's kinda likeable but a bit simple and ordinary. It doesn't have the Prince edge, which is not surprising since it's not a Prince song but a cover.
