Love it or Not? - Gold My joint fav song of all time is seemingly not all that pop amoungst us.

I think it's sappy and many of the lyrics don't make much sense. But to each his own. | |

The song has got 3 strong melodies.
The lyrics make absolute sense 2 me. And a (short but) kickass guitar solo... Lovemachine dude...go listen 2 it and take in the lyrics and picture what they may mean in yo head as U hear the song... I absolutley adore this song. It was releaed just after or while(not sure) I did a 3 month stint in the hospital. I was very sick with Crohn's disease. It...not to sound cliche...helped me through a difficult period in my life and helped me raise my goals. | |

whenever i play thi song on my discman i get goosebumps when that guitar really kicks in at the end of the 2nd verse. like Living On A Prayer by Bon Jovi,just hits me,i feel it bad

I used to be not very fond of this one and was pissed off that it was a single. I thought he was fucking his chances at a hit album by releasing all ballads. But now I love the song and think it makes a great final single. Now I hold the grudge against I Hate U. It should've been Endorphinmachine instead! | |

I LOVE the song!
In fact, I bought the CD for the 5th time wholly because I missed Gold so much and wanted to hear it again. I mainly like the message that the song brings accross. His particular voice in this song is also what makes it so great. Like a wiseman telling you the path...but with music. Peace and be Wild! Miki | |

Its only ok in my book. There's always great instrumentation with a Prince song and always snippets of genius in the production but rarely do these two facts save a weak track.
The lyrics are limp, the chord progression and lead synth line cheesy (agree with the Bon Jovi references!) but the production and musicianship are excellent, which make it just about palatable. Such a shame, as most of the Gold album is good to excellent. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
