"All My Dreams" question

The song's a jumble of styles: swing and funk are interwoven. The lyrics are very optimistic and marriage proposals figure pretty repeatedly, too. I think I hear Susannah on the background vocals.

I figure she might have been his muse during this pe4riod, too -- in a "Forever in my Life" kinda way.

Is this true?

It sounds like it was written for Under the Cherry Moon if it had a happy ending.

lol

Well, the only person that really knows if the muse for "All My Dreams" was Susannah is Prince and I don't think he's going to confirm or deny anytime soon. It's probably not completely impossible that she was his inspiration but to me it could just as likely be the character of Mary Sharon. To me it's such a 'visual' sounding song that it sounds like it was created with UTCM in mind. Is that more focussed for you ? razz

Yes, Prince was engaged to her. She was the inspiration for a lot of tracks in this time, Forever In My Life, If I Was Your Girlfriend, etc.
