The song's a jumble of styles: swing and funk are interwoven. The lyrics are very optimistic and marriage proposals figure pretty repeatedly, too. I think I hear Susannah on the background vocals.

Well, the only person that really knows if the muse for "All My Dreams" was Susannah is Prince and I don't think he's going to confirm or deny anytime soon. It's probably not completely impossible that she was his inspiration but to me it could just as likely be the character of Mary Sharon. To me it's such a 'visual' sounding song that it sounds like it was created with UTCM in mind. Is that more focussed for you ?
