I suppose the strangest thing I've done is meet up with people from the org. No that I've many any strange ones but I suppose it's outside the normality of going with a friend or loved one. It worked out well though, I met someone at the O2 and now we're engaged to be married in August. biggrin

So on reflection, I suppose the strangest thing to happen at a concert was to meet the love of my life.

Oh hang on... Thinking about those O2 gigs... I did spend an unhealthy amount of time on ticketmaster's website, typing in those random words that appeared and trying to secure last minute tickets for that evenings performance. That can't be normal, can it? lol

The strangest thing I saw at a Prince concert was someone dressed in a banana suit.

I put my elbow in a little woman's face that had been putting HER elbow's in my back just a little too often.
If she wanted to be in front of me, all she had to do was show early. Fucking midgets at concerts think they are DESTINED to be in front. They can all fuck off.

Did four shows of my own in three days, then flew to Vegas the next morning for a Prince show that night (my birthday), then flew back home the next day and went to work.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I called up Hong Kong and got a hotel room in less than a week for his show there. I took Greyhound to NYC to get a Passport, Ran back to Miami for an EXPEDIATED one. Had my hair bleached like Madonnas. Took a cab to Miami Airport and then took 2 flights to get there. Got to Hong Kong. Shopped at Admiralty for the perfect dress ,shoes and bag. After the concert ran to get a cab , go back to the hotel and change. Took a cab down to where his Aftershow was and arrived there, Saw the Aftershow , then went out in Hong Kong for Noodles at like 4 am and walked Barefoot in the water near the front door of my Hotel. Hated the fact I had to go back to Florida where it was Much different being Dirty and Stressful. Hong Kong was BEAUTIFUL.

Here's another one...Prince was playing at 3 venues in Florida. I first went to the one in Sunrise, then he threw an afterparty and nobody caould tell us where it was. I found it anyway, then he was playing Tampa so I rented a car and drove to Tampa myself just with a map and some directions and it took me like 5 hrs, then drove home myself at night had tickets for Greyhound to see him in Jacksonville . Just made it home through stuff in a bag and made the bus for Jacksonville. Then after Jacksonville went to Alabama. LOL...So Crazy...It was for Musicology.

Not strange but somewhat fanatical
In 1995 he was in Den Bosch and to me that was one of the greatest concerts I've seen so the next day I wanted to go again. So I persued hubby to come with me and the first person on the street who waved with tickets got a good amount of money from me. Hubby was pissed because that dude would have sold the tickets for so much less but I just couldn't risk not going inside drool
Behind that dude were people selling tickets for even less than half the price lol But it was worth every penny.

I couldn't care less! I would have been gutted if I would not have seen him that evening. It was the famous binocular concert, zoomed in I could see every hair on his hands, I was so close (I had dumped hubby behind me and elbowed myself to the front razz )

And at the O2 I had to give away 2 tickets for free since no-one wanted to buy them lol (and I wasn't impressed that evening sad )

And you've missed a lot, that's not strange, that's horrible!

Who are you going to see soon?
I'm going to buy tickets to Mylene Farmer in September woot!

I read somewhere there are people that follow a tour (bus) throughout the U.S.,
even taking time off from work for like a couple of months,
sounds like they have a lot of fun traveling cross-country.

You just sort of gave me that visual and I had to verbalize it.
lol

Yeah, well I kinda like the Bus thing. It doesn't matter cause it's life on the road. The only thing is you get really tired from lack of sleep. I would need a private bus not Greyhound and then I'd go to all his shows actually. I guess in a fantasy world if I ever sang or worked for him I wouldn't care if a bus was our Transportation.

my car wouldn't start and I was too dressed to fuck with it and time was ticking away and I was afraid of the S.D. > L.A. traffic....so, I sorta just took my brothers girlfriends car while they were out and just left a note.
Luckily, her keys were on the key hook by the front door so it was quick and easy!!! wink

In order to save money and cut down on lost work time, I did a lot of driving in a short period of time to go to the One Night Alone show in Cleveland.

I started out by leaving a town in Western NY at noon on a Sunday (after a night of heavy drinking). Drove (in friends car)for about 6 hours to get to Cleveland (snowy day). Went to the show at 8. At 11, drove back to Western NY, arrived around 4. Hopped into my car and drove to my home in Northern New York (again in the snow. Arrived home around 9am. Did some serious sleeping and then went to work the next day.

Carpooled with my college roommate who had a ticket, I didn't have a ticket. When I got thewre...I just hoped and prayed I would find one....walked up and downt he line asking if anyone had tix....and guess what!

someone DID!...sold it to me at cost!...and they were in the front of the line!....for a bit, I was like in the 3rd row of a gen admin concert!...for $40!

my dumbass went further back to kick it with my roommate and other friends who were there but not in front. It was a Love4OneAnother Show in Sandyeggo CA....AWESOME SHOW...That fool was plaing Piano and Bass at the same time during Face DOwn...Rocked the Ride with some dude playing the solo on Harmonica under a HUGE red glow of a light.>>the whole thing was incredible.
