Do you think Prince enjoys talking about his movies, music?

I happen to think he does. I think he could probably talk about music 24/7. Does he Critique himself Constantly you think? I probably could Discuss all his tunes and movies with him . How about you? Could you have a conversation with Prince on his music alone?

Definitely! If I ever got a chance to talk to him, that's what I'd like to discuss.

The question is, do you think he'd be open to discussing his music, especially my honest opinions of it, or would he deflect? Or get ticked off if I said there was something I didn't like?
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

I don't believe he talks about his music alot. Unless he's thinking up material for a new song. Whenever Prince is asked; "what's his favorite song or album" he never mentions one of his own.

Very modest...

Actually, I remember him saying in an interview that "Around the World in a Day" was his personal favorite.
NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

He also said in an interview that he doesn't listen to "For You". He says he spent too much time on it, perfecting it, so it became over-produced and the basic songs got covered up.

So, I think he can be very critical of his own albums. It's just not in his interests to make these criticisms public. Who would buy a Prince album that Prince himself doesn't listen to? Maybe it's best if we don't know what problems he sees in his own work.

He also made a "subtle" criticism of prince in "Freedom, Pt. 1":
"...his output suffered, because his mind was in2 the future, and theirs was firmly in the past… Try listening 2 the prince album and The Rainbow Children back 2 back, and tell us on which u can hear the sound of freedom… "

and:
"What if Prince had stayed within the system? What would he have done?
...
Would he have got another rapper in his band?"

prince is one of my very favorite Prince albums, so it's a bit discouraging to hear that it's not one of Prince's favorites. But I think we all know that his tastes change from one month to the next.

To answer your first question, Natasha, no, I don't think he likes talking about his own work when it comes to interviews.

I also recall Prince being very critical of 'Parade' saying "Parade was a disaster.I made it too soon after 'Around The World In A Day" and I just didn't have enough great material ready.Apart from "Kiss",there's nothing on 'Parade' that I'm particulary proud of".
