Ok one more part and I'm goin'to bed lol. The part where Mary is mad at Chris ,this after he takes her from the airport and they're sitting in his car, and of course they do that whole "i hate u" "i love you" stuff. And when they finally kiss, the old homeless mad starts applauding and cheering and Prince makes these hand gestures telling him to stop while he's kissing Mary lol.

Yes,that's sooo Sweet. I Love when Prince is in the backseat and he wears his Raybans and she says I Hate You! You WHORE and He goes I Love You and it's back and Forth and the kissing and the music to Kiss plays... Yeah,I'm going to bed also. Nighty,Night...

Okay, two of my favorite parts then I'M going to bed.

When Cristopher and Tricky get thrown out of Mary's party and Tricky's like, "Punk! Come back here and fight! Come and get some of this! I'll put this cute little shoe in yo' ugly-" Then Cristopher interupts Tricky and Tricky's like: "What?! What you want?"- I love the expression on his face when he says that! I laugh so hard whenever I see that part.


The other one is when Cristopher is talking about love and he says to Tricky: "For example: do you love me?" and Tricky takes off Cristopher's glasses and he says: "Girl, I loved you for years". I always get a little smile on face when I see that part.

Has anybody notice the sequence right before mary walks in the cafe, when 1 couple is arguing and 1 couple is more involved with each other. When the camera comes back around the couples are doing the opposite. The couple that was arguing is now more involved, while the couple who was kissing is now arguing. I thought that was funny!!!

Honestly, Under The Cherry Moon is one of my favourite
and one of the most underrated movies of all times.
It´s cool for what it is, funny and full of kitschy
romance...up to now, I´ve only read ONE positive review
of it, somewhere on salon.com
Maybe ten years from now people will finally appreciate
this movie a bit more.
PS. The scene with Prince in the bath tub is slightly
different in the German version...he doesn´t say "Fascist !"
while sinking down that rubber duck or whatever into the
water... a lot of movies and TV series, incl. Magnum PI, had
sort of censored or altered dialogues in the German version
in the eighties...they redubbed Magnum PI later in the
nineties , making it closer to the original US-version.
There are also two different versions of Purple Rain I guess, because that scene with the Kid going into the house
shouting "Answer me Muthafucka !" is also different, guess one is a TV-version.

..plus the scene where he´s slapping Appolonia is missing
in one version ..

How camp was the bald bodyguard of Isaac also? He lost all his menacing appeal soon as he spoke.

UTCM is one of my favorite movies. I thought I was the only one that loved that movie. It's just a classic. It wasn't well received when it came out, but when you see it now you can see the fun in it and you get the chance to see Prince be comical and not sooo serious. I think with this movie outside of his other movies he expressed his free, fun, crazy sense of humor and it wasn't about the music like his other movies, but about the acting and the movie. I crack up everytime I see this movie and I never miss it and never miss Purple Rain even though I have all his movies already!

BTW I have a few questions:
1. At the beginning of UTCM why did Prince put his piano on the mountain top and how did he get it there?

2. In the scene when the kids stop Prince and ask him for money, he grabs the basketball and says, "Why don't y'all get a job..." Why did Prince drive his car, park it then walk the rest of the way home?

Maybe he used the boat because it was a faster way to get away from Mary's father? That's what I always thought.

I think you are right Lovebird. That makes sense. She's in a Grotto. Why is he gonna walk there? I can't see Prince walking that would be Stupid.

Do you think Prince walks anywhere anymore? I don't! Well,he'd always have Security,but would he ever Walk when he can ride? Would he ever Ride a Bicycle? Can he do these things? I think he'd be Harassed too much for sure so why would he.

There were some nice cinematic subtlties throughtout this film that made it quite unique. I am sure there were lost on the less enlightened general US movie going public which is very unintelligent. I think UTCM was a funny , enjoyable film.

when Prince kises(molests) Mary in the car and Kiss comes on, the bums start clapping..and Prince does that wave thing with his hand while still kissing Mary..waving his hand saying "Im the one" like He is so enigmatic

My all time favorite part is when Prince gives Mary the eyes for the first time at her party. OMG that part makes me melt!!!
