The Lovesexy album is available (as one track, naturally and legally) from Tesco's new answer to Itunes, Tesco Digital. Along with up to 300 other Prince tracks, some rarer than others (all the tracks from 94 East, for instance)

What's more, even though it costs 77p, you can actually get it for free if you use the code TPF52TX195, which gives £1 off. So get 2 tracks for 54p.

The downside: the WMA format version I purchased was only 41Mb and 128kps, though it sounds clear enough (you can get it in MP3 format also)-, it's in one track as I said before, the WMA files have DRM (apparently the MP3s don't) and I don't whether you can download outside the UK. But hope this is useful !

Rhapsody also has it really cheap. They have it for 99cents USD. You have to watch where you click. If you buy it in one area, you'll pay $7.99. In another, you pay 99 cents.

I have 2 cds, 1 cassette and have bought 2 downloads of the album. Sometimes I want to hear it at work and don't have the cd with me.

i remember borrowing and listening to the album on cassette about 4 or 5 years after it was released and just being absolutely awestruck at it. it was just the perfect album at the time for me.
as a young musician at the time, i specifically recall moments of walking around with my walkman listening to it and just being blown away.

I still view it as 77p for something that I can't hold. Get the cd and bang it on your pc. At least when you lose everything on your pc (Windows tends to do that) you'll have something to show for your money (and to look at when you're ancient).

I'll confess, I can think of worse things to get me through a recession (it is my favourite Prince album and I still find it uplifting in the extreme).
