Well, it's not too far fetched that the reason he chose a 3 isntead of an "e" as a reference to the "Aum" which is obviously connected to the Lotus Flower as both are hindu symbols. | |

Perhaps, but this is one of those things I find very interesting to discuss and analyze. Prince is great at hidden meanings and pictures that have more to them than what first meets the eye. These things are part of the whole musical experience to me, and are more meaningful to debate than "Why can't Prince be like he use to be?" or "what shoe size does he have?". I think it's more likely that the 3 is a reference to the three albums coming out. That's also an idea. Can be both. Btw, it's not only an org illness, but also one you get when culture and the arts is what you deal and work with. Nasty thing | |

Just some more information about AUM:
A stands for akara (creative vibration) U stands for ukara (preservative vibration) M stands for makara (vibratory power of dissolution) AUM is said to be the "sound of God" or the "voice of God". It is also equated with the Christian teaching of the Holy Ghost. It comes from the same root as Amen. In Hinduism, it is considered the Cosmic Vibration. One meditates upon AUM (and the silence in between the mantra), as one previously said to become centered or more importantly, liberated. From the Bhagavad Gita: God Talks with Arjuna by Paramahansa Yogananda: In the Yoga Sutras of Patanali, AUM is spoken of as the symbol of Ishvara (or God). This great authority on yoga refers to Aum as a Cosmic Sound continuously flowing in the ether, unutterable by any human voice, and fully known only to the illumined. Further, Patanajali says that deep concentration on Aum is a means of liberation....
The Holy Ghost is spoken of by the Hindus as Aum, by the Muslims as Amin, and by the Christians as Amen or the Word. In Revelation 3:14 we find this definition: "These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God." This Amen or Cosmic Sound which, as a divine witness faithfully accompanies all vibratory creation from its beginning -- even as sound accompanies or declares the running of a motor. In other words, Amen or Aum is an "ear witness" that declares, as accessible to all devotees, the tangible presence in all creation of the Creator.... Krishna, Jesus, and Patanjali all taught that man must receive the Holy Ghost (the Comforter) in order to reach the Christ Intelligence within it and God the Father existing beyond it (beyond Aum or vibratory creation). All souls have descended into matter from God the Father beyond creation, God the Son or Christ Intelligence, and God the Holy Ghost. Every soul has therefore to ascend to the Spirit (unmanifested Aboslute) through the stages of Its triune manifestation -- Holy Ghost, Son, and Father (Aum-Tat-Sat of the Hindu scriptures.) typo edit [Edited 1/5/09 9:56am] | |

The 3 is meant to be an "e"...
So essentially it's a backwards 'e'. Remember the day when Satanic messages were recorded into songs and you could hear them when you played the song backwards? Well, Prince is employing the same Satanic methodology to his website. Rumor has it, he's turned to Satan as his personal savior, which may disturb some folks, but I think music fans should rejoice as Satanic influences always promote better music. | |
