Are you listening to the correct track?
It's in the fourth "box" down from the top.
It's sounds like early techno to me, not "disco".
And the chorus's melody vaguely resembles Prince melody for the verses of TMBGITW. I think P should tell the Italian courts to go fuck themselves and just stay out of their country for the rest of his life. He won't be missing much anyway. They don't deserve a fucking penny.

AAAAH! Must have been my work computer.

Just heard it now.

The chorus is...sorta similar? I guess? I mean, I would *never* have heard it and thought, 'Oh wow, that's The Most Beautiful Girl in the World!' but, if I TRY, I can sorta fit in the words. Kinda.

:\

Thus the reason for me saying they don't deserve a single solitary penny. hmph!

I love the idea that Prince wouldn't be missing much if he didn't go to Italy... that's so funny. Your use of irony is to be praised!

Well. Prince DID avoid Italy from 1988 to 2002, you probably remember that he got into trouble there before. Too bad that this comes up now. I´m sure he has a big fanbase there.

They can always commute to France or something. lol

Ahem... I confirm they don't
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

No way. These joker's are trying to rip Prince off. There ain't nothing good to cop from that toon.TMBGITW is more of a throwback to groups like the Blue Magic, Stylistics, Delfonics and Chi-Lites. These cats should be put in jail for trying this bs scheme.

Prince's publishing deal has been with Universal for some considerable time.

That is different from a recording label.

Sell my Publishing? What a laugh!

I have this track on an old Italo Disco compilation, it sounds nothing like MBGITW. Decent track though, better than MBGITW lol

The 'similarity' is in the chorus, but any link utterly tenuous, I'm sure you could find a million and one tracks that use a similar melody. You have to laugh, it's 2009, MBGITW is from 1994, and the original track is from 1983. It's taken them almost 15 years to figure out this similarity in a worldwide smash hit? Not to mention Italo Disco being well known for plagiarising big hits from the time left, right and centre!

Hmm...yes there are similarities but its only a 10 second part, not the whole song, and its not the main melody of the song, so it could be coincidence.

Much more of a case is the plagarism of Girl 6 which does sound JUST like the song, 'Phone Sex' by GOMAB, which he was taken to court over
Link: http://prince.org/msg/7/265655

The biggest most recent example of plagiarism to me is the stealing of U2's guitar riff from I Will Follow, which he used in 'Guitar',
I am very suprised he hasn't been drawn up on that, as its obvious there.

It's REALLY stretching it saying there are similarities... I would never have thought of TMBGITW if I had just heard this song by itself.

While they are at it

-The piano in 'Lemon Crush' and Freddie Mercury's 'Man Made Paradise' are somewhat the same.

-The bass riff from Queen's 'A kind of Magic' and 'Only the Strong Survive' are identical

-The bass from MC Hammer's 'Can't Touch this' and Rick James 'Super Freak' are the same...oh wait.
