Blah indeed. I liked Here Eye Come , but this song sucks... and why is Prince using that cheesy drum beat with the rim shot sound in every song?

The instrumentation is what makes it....as expected. Reminds me of the early 90s. Prince has given some great background music and arrangement to her album, and yet I still don't understand his motivation. I can't think "wow" when I hear her tracks when my main thought is "why?"

I will admit, unlike Prince, her voice sounds better with digital/enhancement effects (like most others that are usually at the top of the Billboard Pop/R&B charts....).

he should've kept her songs 4 himself! i'm not fussed about her voice at all, i've decided certainly not exceptional.
i can't imagine how she'll cope live - if that ever happens.

I'm really liking what I've heard off Elixir so far. The tracks sound really well produced - silky, straight forward and sexy. To be honest, of the three albums, it's probably the one I'm looking forward to the most

I absolutely love both new songs!! Short snippets but impressive, i cant wait to buy the albums! We have gotten a little taste thus far but its way too soon to write them off, give them a chance.

Song arrangements is tight, vocals fit well wit the sound.

My reaction to her songs so far has nothing to do with "hate." LOL (If anything, it's based on my "love" of great vocalists.) I'm not a fan of voices like hers, or voices that need digital enhancement. Like U said about Bria, Paris Hilton can "actually sing" too, as can millions of random people. But is Paris a singer that should be on an album these days? No. Ever watch any of these singing talent shows? I don't agree with the results all the time, but hundreds of people audition that can "actually sing" (in terms of today's low standards), but are immediately or eventually cut or critiqued by the judges because they are actually not skilled enough.


If Bria had an amazing and unique voice I enjoyed listening too in these three songs, my position would be the exact opposite, with me saying "Yay" instead of "Nay." Unlike U, my opinion is objective and based strictly on the music, LOL.

Nothing that's been released so far even comes close.

I'm not hating on Bria or saying I don't like what I've heard. I actually like what I've heard of this song. I just don't get why he would've thrown Sade's name in there to begin with. I hope to be pleasantly surprised by her album.

For example, many thought Tamar was Prince's girlfriend, as did I for awhile, and I really liked her singing style. Sheila E. was a girlfriend of his, and I love her musical talent. Mayte was his WIFE, and I always thought she was a great dancer. I don't know any of these people personally, so I don't have any problems with their personal lives with Prince. I will never conflate his relationships with women with my evaluation of songs or performances he's created for them. I've never said Bria is not able to literally sing melodic verses, 'cause clearly she has the ability. She just doesn't have a voice I enjoy listening to right now, which is based purely on what I've heard and not what I've seen regarding she and Prince. I even stated that her vocals in "All This Love" sound better than the other two songs (but that's only because of the digital effects in my ears, and because she sounds like she's emulating one of Prince's vocal styles).

If U say Bria can sing well in the three tracks we've heard, but Paris is not able to sing at all (and that their voices are not similar), I would believe U are not truly listening. Plus I think your opinion is not objective in this case, since it seems clouded by your taste in looks anyway. So...what if I compared Bria's voice to Mayte's then?

Mayte cant sing, neither can Paris. Bria's voice smokes both of them, fine as they are. The music is better too. The comparison is jus stupid so break tryin to prove a stupid point.
