A New Galaxy Awaits January 2009 A New Galaxy Awaits January 20 09 I've heard the 20th thrown around for other reasons, but that just caught my eye tonight. ehhh that might be stretching it, but it would be nice if it was up on the 20th.. that's in an hour er so I agree it is a stretch, but it struck me as more plausible than counting the dots on the website. I was just looking for why this date got stuck in so many minds. Sure it is a Tuesday, but when has Prince relied on conventional wisdom? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

I think that he should post new album snippets for each track, allowing fans to vote for favorite tracks, then compile a FULL single cd release with favoured tracks - similar to what he was going to do with CB2....

He can put up 36 tracks with snippets and allow you to download any 12 for the price of a CD. That way everyone can have the disc that they want without having to miss anything due to the majority not liking it. The thing is, you know you'd download them all regardless, even if you would have voted them off for a single disc release. RIP

...nuthin'. I knew that was going to happen. Prince would be nothing short of stupid if he released new music today. No one is thinking of Prince or any other star today because of the inauguration of Barrack Obama, which is more important IMHO. I'm sure if it comes out, it might be next week but even that I'm not sure of, as is anyone else in here. We gotta be patient with this. [Edited 1/20/09 7:03am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

[Edited 1/20/09 7:03am] Ah Cam, of course it's more important, but Barack's inauguration doesn't stop folks from going online, downloading music, etc. It could even considered "symbolic" if he dropped new music on this day... either that, or a statement of how he doesn't care 4 (or trust) politics. The thing about Obama though, is that he was the 1st Presidential candidate in my life's history that I believed in. Otherwise, I would've been with Prince on the futility and meaninglessness of the 2 party "democracy" we have here. I mean, I grew up with Reagan/Bush, so I have every right 2 be skeptical, but hearing a determined, articulate, intelligent, and impassioned candidate in Obama marked the 1st time in my life I believed in a politician. I think what I said didn't come out right and let it be known that I'd love to get new music today too if that were the case. I said it would be silly to release new music today because of the Obama becoming President, that's why I added In My Honest Opinion but also, so many people would be focused on what's happening in Washington D.C. that any kind of major impact that Prince could make with these CD's would be lost because everyone would be wrapped up with the news of the new president being sworn in. I would think that Prince would want to make some noise with these CD's and where publicity is concerned, all eyes are on Obama right now and his CD's dropping would practically become a non-event. Now if he wanted to drop the CD's tomorrow, then it's would make some news. I'm trying to look at this from a publicity standpoint as well as a personal one too. I hope that's clear and makes sense. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Well, apart from the LA Times interview which said,"The three will hit the Web and that retailer, the artist said, "as soon as the holidays are over." http://prince.org/msg/7/2...nce-Part-2 Unless you think he was referring to the summer holidays? *EDIT* But to be fair, he doesn't actually say, 'I promise'. Hmmmm... ALSO... If U add the ticket number (07700), the section (03), the row (07), and the seat (07), the sum is 31... 7+7+3+7+7=31. Okay, this kinda stuff perplexes me. If Prince is really being so cryptic, IMHO what a waste of personal/spiritual energy. I'm all for a bit of mystery and doing "the work", but please, when it comes to concert dates, new music releases and the like, how about some clear information? It's been going back and forth on this board for as long as I've been here that Prince is sooooo mysterious. He's sending us messages in numbers. ETC ETC Again, I've got nothing against a little fun, but has he EVER revealed any notion as to what he intended to have us understand? Mysterious upon mysterious upon mysterious gets rather jumbly to me. Please keep in mind that I do take into account that Prince may not be embedding messages into every tiny facet of every single project (for lack of a better word), but if he's even thinking about making us do the work through any such coded means, enough already. For the sake of saying it, I can't get over this (my own issue certainly ) I REALLY don't think he's embedded a message in the number of light points pictured on the homepage of www.lotusflow3r.com, but if he DID, am I the only one that sees that as ridiculous? Same things with the numbers adding up to something significant. If riddles are being presented, I'd be happy to play, if I knew for sure there was a riddle to be solved and if the answer to the riddle will eventually be made known. This is not a bash on Prince. As I see it, this is a huge spin out of sanity while we all wait for concrete information. So be it, but wow, what an expenditure of energy. I'm firmly planted in denial

I hear what you're saying, but I must "disagree", because Prince's fondness 4 cryptic messages and hints is not a waste of his energy. That is actually quite healthy 4 the mind, and it is equally healthy 2 try 2 decipher them. Also... Prince has been doing this 4 several years now, and 2 me at least, it keeps things exciting until the music hits. [Edited 1/20/09 10:28am] "He's a musician's musician..."
