They make The Appollo crowd look like the Kids Are People Too crowd. i noticed that, too... i was at the atlanta concert and it was like, "damn, it seems like i remember more people that were closer to my age than this picture is indicating"... and only like 2 or 3 guys... and nearly all of them are white except for the one black lady and the one black dude... and the dude doesn't look very happy... i think atlanta could kick this crowds ass... we were more diverse in every aspect... and much sexier and cooler... ... not braggin or disrespecting or anything... more like 1975-76 We're both partly right. But I never heard of "Wonderama." Read -->http://www.jumptheshark.c...letoo.html I notice that link won't show up, so I'll just hijack 2the9's thread by posting a few paragraphs of the text. It's from the Jumptheshark.com site: "This was a Saturday morning network show from the late 70's that had some older "soupy sales" kind of dork who had a dog named.."Walk-a-Doo" Then they changed it to a younger guy and a chick who hosted it...I remember that was the first talk show I ever saw KISS interviewed on...not to mention that it was on for several years if memory served Michael Young was the host. I could never understand how that guy got a job in TV. When F. Lee Bailey was on and did a staged, mock trial showing his "amazing" litigation skills against a 9 year old girl. This show was great fun on a Sunday morning when I was about 7-9. I remember seeing Cheap Trick, Adam Rich, Dom Deluise and his son, and many other relevant 70's icons. I'd love to see reruns of it. The show had two very different incarnations. The first, called "Wonderama" (circa 1975)involved the "Disco Kid" who would traverse over land, sea, and air -with the film reel running at high speed- as he made his way to the studio to deliver the newest hit to the show's host. They would also have competitions where 5 and 6 year olds would race on hippity-hops. Watching kids my age compete for toys was the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" at that time for me. It jumped the shark in the second version called "Kids Are People To" (circa 1980), which was the closing song on "Wonderama". It involved two hip non-drug using teens named Alex and Andy who were way too in touch with themselves. Especially when they did their "Dear Alex and Andy" Ann Landers rip-off. All the topics were so soft, i.e. "my new baby brother is a pain". Where's the sisters sleeping with the mothers segment? Although, when they had David Brenner on he had a great gag. He would write "rat poison to kill neighbor" on the memo line of his checks. Other than that, it was chum for the shark. Just as a point of clarification for the first person who voted for this show, the "dork" you're talking about was Bob McAllister. From 1967 to 1977 McAllister hosted a show in New York called Wonderama. It was on every sunday morning from 8:00 to 11:00 on channel 5 in New york city and was a big hit with kids. I never missed wonderama and I was excited when ABC gave him his own show in 1978. I was nine years old at the time so I was a little too old to watch the show, but I grew up watching bob McAllister so I was happy he finally got a big break nationally."
