The first song that came to mind was "Savior" form Emancipation. However, then I thought about it. I really think that much of his post-WB output is underrated. I know there are people here who like to rag on the newer material, but Prince has recorded some really good stuff in the last 15 years. There are certainly some new classics in the bunch that have not gotten the love the deserve. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination... | |

Around the World in a Day
Crucial - not really "underrated" but really not rated at all, as I don't see it discussed that much. I just think it's a superior cut. Take Me With You - okay, I now there are a lot of detractors, but I've always been a sucker for this song. A great, simple pop song with some interesting flourishes. The Morning Papers - great midtempo blues/rock song. Private Joy Man O' War - really underrated in my opinion, criminally neglected since the album wasn't that "big". Somebody's Somebody - a lot of cuts on Emancipation are underrated because the album is underrated and people like to bitch about how bloated it is and how it should have been cut down. Maybe, but there are still great songs there. White Mansion - an super simple song from a musical standpoint, but still great. | |
