Prince's recent studio work is weak compared to his recent live performances!?

This is my opinion. You may disagree of course.

That is the main problem with Prince these days to me. His live stuff is amazing compared to the studio work. Was this always the case? I don't think so. Compare to the album versions, I never heard 'Kiss' or 'When Doves Cry' done well in concert by him.

But these days every album cut is better live. Examples? 'Life O The Party' and 'Fury'. i just don't get it!

What is wrong with him when he hits the studio? he doesn't seem to bring the funk or the guitar in the studio (he gets when he does it live.)

It bothers me, that when i buy a new album by him, i'm back to listening to live bootlegs a week later, having given the new album a few spins, i really try to feel it, but just don't.

I hope he proves me wrong with these upcoming albums, but then i always hope that. neutral
