"Funky Funky Blue Cheese"
I personally like the track its very fun and love the effects and by far it is not the worst song for instance Mr Goodnight has the most terrible rap ive heard infact it makes me be ashamed 2 be a prince fan its cringe-worthy! Everybody's looking 4 the ladder
Everybody wants salvation of the soul The steps U take are no easy road But the reward is great 4 those who want 2 go

Elevating fish to the status of "brother/sister" simultaneously reduces the status of the human. Yet more cod philosophy from Mr.Nelson. The status of humans should not have been elevated in the first place. Humans are no better or worse than any other animal. If you believe that they are then you are quite self-centered. Nah, walk don't walk is cool. You can tell he just sat down and said "I'm going to write a song today." He saw the WALK/DON'T WALK sign and ran with it. It's just a good little song that stands on it's own for what it is. No great work of genius, but just kinda cool. And he uses car horns for instruments and human voice instead of bass guitar.

I think the problem with the song has more to do with peoples conscious then anything. Some meat eaters feel a little guilty because prince is actually making people consider the question whether eating meat is morally wrong.
people don't want to even question that beacuse they love their meat so much and believe themselves to be "good" people. I love that prince challenges people with the song. And I'll eat a steak in a minute. People rather not face all the death they are a party too.

The song is fantastic. I think Tricky has a good point above... That it may be the lyrical condemnation of all animal products, that some folks have a tough time with.
Great song. "He's a musician's musician..."

Every time I hear that song, I want a steak and a milkshake.
And it has nothing to do with guilt. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Great song. I very rarely will judge a song harshly by the subject of its lyrics. It's the quality of them that I take issue with and that annoys me.

People rather not face all the death they are a party too. maybe that's why i don't react strongly to the song one way or another. i'm a vegetarian, so he's already preaching to the choir as far as i'm concerned. of course, he's going off on a vegan rant, which at the time i thought was cool - i've never gone that far, but i admire people who do - but i think even prince has given up the vegan lifestyle since making that song, so for me it just goes to show that prince can make a passionate "issue" song one day and then not have those convictions the next day. i guess that's the risk you take when you're prolific and mercurial. musically, in my opinion the song isn't great nor is it offensive. it's just kinda "meh". "the truth" was a weird little grab-bag of song sketches, and i don't think any one song was a shining masterpiece - taken all together, though, i think it's a really interesting little album.

This is true. Prince probably doesn't hold these same exact view these days but that can be true about any song that espouses values in. values and points of view change over time. We all make statements that become untrue as time passes.

I can only speak for me but it is not a crisis of conscience for me. Yes, I eat meat and yes, I am a good person. Nothing anyone says to me is going to change that.

The Wedding Feast is worse than Jughead. It's worse than anything ever that's been bad. I wanna be loved to the 9s, so let me cover your ass with this sheet, and baby, you better stay on the beat! Cause you know the Karma Sutra? I can rewrite it. But, with half as many words.

Ummmmm, not quite. My disdain for this song is the asinine lyrics and music, although I think the whole thing is meant to be a joke. Listen to the solo - the man is making noises with his lips for crying out loud! And dolphin noises?? The line: "The breast I suck would have a line around the hood" What does that even mean? That would be one enormous bosom! "No member of the animal kingdom ever did a thing to me, so I don't eat red meat or whitefish" I'm prayin' a cow bites me! Anyways - "some meat eaters" don't feel guilty, we just know a sh*t song when we hear one. This song is in a perpetual battle with Jughead and Graffiti Bridge to be crowned "Worst Song Ever"

This is the most misunderstood track in Prince history. It's not meant to be a stand-alone song. It's a narrative segue with an intentionally comedic tone. Prince himself laughs at it near the end. I think it's pretty damn funny too. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
