I was out doing some shopping today and found 'Life & Times' in the bargain bin at Barnes and Noble for $12.50 and 21 Nights on the bargain table at Books-A-Million for $25.00.

I know it's been said before but the only reason to pick up 21 nights is for the CD and even that isn't so spectacular...unless you like hearing Prince talk about buying tampons and hanging out with cute guys.

I picked up my copy of Life & Times from Barnes and Noble today for 12.50 it was 1/2 off listed price. What a deal! I love it and I have both books now.

Can't decide which one I like better, I like them both for various reasons. biggrin

I got both books for Christmas and I am disappointed with the '21 Nights' book. It's nothing more than an overpriced, glorified tourbook with a bunch of useless photos.

'The Life And Times of Prince',on the other hand,is EXCELLENT.Lots of great info and photos.Alot of care and attention was put into this book.

Hmm,got Life and Times from Barnes+Noble for my b'day(just bef Christmas) and love it....lots of great pics(yep-easily pleased wink )
Got 21 Nights yesterday for £7.50 fm Waterstones and although its nice to have, it could have been finished with a higher quality content wise IMHO...I mean how many pics of the car coming round the corner to the Dorchester does a girl need really?
I did get my life+times sent over to the UK but I know its coming out here in softback version in March 09.
I'd really like to sneek a peek at the Prince in Hawaii book next....gotta have a dream huh?

4 those who have seen both of the recent coffee table books on Prince, which book do u like better?

Life and Times by Far but I was Dissapointed that it didn't have his music release history in the back like Possessed did by Alex Hahan.

21 nites CD Sucks! This guy (Prince) has made an art of holding back!

We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

I don't know about Life and Times yet but I did finally get to look through 21 Nights yesterday in Barnes & Noble and I can see why so many people are dissappointed in it. It seems pretty pedestrian, not even all the pics are of Prince and most of them are boring and some are out of focus. I looked at the back of the book at the retail price and no way would I pay 50.00 for that, cd or no cd.

They are entirely different books, so I won't venture to say one is better than the other.

I will say that I'm actually reading "Life & Times" whereas "21 nights" was looked at once and is now sitting on a shelf.

I am happy to have "21 nights", though. I've listened to the CD a few times, but overall it's just more a sort of Prince collectible to add to the others.

I've heard everyone for the most part say the cd in 21 nights isn't all its cracked up to be but I was just wondering why most people didn't like it?

Is it the song choices or quality or what? I mean it should be cd quality concert tracks right?

Life & Times

I have both.

21 Nights feels incomplete. For those who did not go,more concert photos would have been better.

I like the cd.It's not something I would listen to everyday though.
