1. Parade - Cause on vinyl it looks as if his body is mirrored.. looks like a piece of artwork.
2. 1999 - I like the raw, stencil drawing look.. it just defines the rawness of the album to me.
3. ATWIAD - It's imaginative.

Around the World in the Day -because it's such a departure from the typical Prince album cover. A lovely, surreal image that brings in lyrical elements of the album.

1999 -hand drawn. 'Nuff said. It's got so many cute little details and odd things hidden in it, and I LOVE that you can see the edging on the colouring from the marker's from where he coloured it perhaps not so tidily.

Dirty Mind -Love the black and white photo. Again, it's a departure from the standard Prince album cover in that, though it is still a picture of him, it's not glamourous or re-touched in any obvious way. Though personally, I would have switched the back and front photos with each other. In the back, that he's laying on the bed(frame?) not acknowledging the camera gives the viewer a sort of voyeuristic sense, like we're seeing something that wasn't really meant for our eyes. Good stuff, and, well, a little dirty too. Very fitting.


I had to really think about this one, because truth be told, I don't care much for most of his album covers. A lot of them are overly airbrushed "glamour shots"-style close-ups of his face. Not terribly interesting. 3121 gets a nod though for presenting him, back to the camera, with the album title sewn onto his jacket.
