But let me describe it.

I have a Fujicolor print photograph given to my dad by a backing singer of Prince's. It was taken while he was on tour in England.

We dont know what year Im guessing 90s


He is wearing a dark yellow shirt open to the waist tied in a kind of bow at the base with a silver symble broach in the centre. He is wearing a very thick gold chain around his neck. His jacket is black lace with long narrow sleeves but it is cropped.

His trousers are hi-waist, black skinny with yellow buttons on the side. His hair is short and quite straight and his beard is in that keyline style in a tick shape from the corners of his mouth backwards.



I think the pic is unusual cos its so informal, I cant recall any post eighties relaxed informal pics.

P is sitting on a round table with his singer next to him, she has her arm around his shoulders. His legs are dangling and his left arm is relaxed on one knew, its very relaxed looking.

Her hair is braided and beaded in lots of colours, mainly yellows, golds and some blues and is piled high on top of her head tied in a silver ribbon thing. roasie gaines stylie. Apart from that she is all in black with a diamante bracelet and necklace and pearl buttons and what appears to be a symble ring over her black glove - but i cant quite make it out.

The location appears to be back stage somewhere as its very low key with ash trays around and corporate style decorations and a fire exit sign over the door.


Prince isnt smiling but is looking directly at the camera, its posed but informal taken i guess by another band member or support artist etc.


her name is Lee-sha I think she performed as rainbow or something. Its signed to my dad from Lee-sha on the back. Apparently she gave my sister two more but I havent seen them yet so I dont know if they are diff shots - how cool would that be????


Please help identify when this could be, or maybe one of you has seen a pic like this before.

I think its pretty rare as 1. its informal and 2. prince is willingly getting his photo taken back stage somewhere and 3. his singer has her arm around his shoulders.

Sounds like it's from around the time of D&P/Love Symbol/Come. So...early 90s.

the ashtrays are not used but are the large english pub style one with carlsburg on it and the other is one of those office floor staning oones that doubes a s bin, as i said backstage somewhere in a conference style room, very plain decor, a wooden dado rail on the wall and half a pic can be seen on the wall with the lettering ETTO which i assume is the end of a word, its a framed poster of a film or something.

do any of you remeber what was worn in the two concerts in London at that time, I saw him at Earls Court but dont remeber which tour it was

Just glossing over the description, sounds like it's Diamonds and Pearls or Symbol-era ('91-92). Those were about the only time he wore both the (horrid) high-waisted pants and had the beard.

Hair short & straight??? Sounds more like '94 to me.

It seems a mix of all styles look

He played Earls Court (more than two dates) in 1992.

There was no backing singer in his band. The females in the line-up were Rosie Gaines, Mayte, Diamond and Pearl, together with Kathy Jensen from the Hornheadz.

During the European residency, Carmen Electra sometimes opened with a band which included Kathleen Johnson.

But I have no idea who Lee-sha was as part of his entourage.

That would fit in with the 'short straight hair' thing (94-96). Could be something 2do with the shop he opened in london around that time.

well guys her name is lee-sha but she had a stage name, ill have to check with my sis again for that. and she was a singer not a dancer, shes not got the physique of a dancer
