I'm not able to link a pic right now. Luke Skywalker raising his lightsaber, although I expect a picture to be posted before my post. That's the one!

The picture seems very symbolic 4 the Light of God's love being recieved and the waterfall is the outpouring of that joined love between Father and Child.
The picture is beautiful and uplifting. U can look at ascension as a shared process. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Sorry, but I just don't think that NYC pic has anything to do with the inspiration for Prince's website. [Edited 1/6/09 6:55am] I agree. You don't need a photo like that to come up with the idea for that picture, I've seen plenty of similar drawings. I think it's supposed to look like Prince/The Lotus Flower is either touched by a light from God or radiating its "power" up to the sky or Heaven, or something like that. yes i agree with that as well i am just saying last time it is in the mix what seems to be.

Nefertem was the "solar" god of the Lotus Flower and of Perfume/Fragrance. He was also the patron of both the healing arts and the arts of beautification... His name, Nfr-tm, means..."he who has newly appeared is perfect'." "Nefertem was shown to be a beautiful young man with a water lily-lotus flower on his head, and was also depicted as a human head emerging from a large water lily." Below is a statue of Nefertem's likeness (his head ascending from a Lotus Flower)and similiar facial pose from Prince below on his artwork... Also, the "beam" ascending from these "Nefertem"-Lotus Flower statues are similiar to the one in the artwork. (Also...) "The god of the blue water lily was Nefertem, a god not just linked to the sun but to beautification and healing....The perfume of this flower was not only pleasing to the Egyptians, but they saw it as healing as well. Scenes show women holding the water lily and people being offered the flower at parties, smelling its divine fragrance. Some people today believe that the Egyptians used this plant as a narcotic both for its healing qualities and as a recreational drug..." "... the Creator ... knew that he was alone. This solitude became unbearable and he longed for other beings to share the new world with him. The thoughts of the Creator became the gods and everything else which exists. When his thoughts had shaped them, his tongue gave them life by naming them. Thoughts and words were the power behind creation." So, in a nutshell, looks like he now chooses to constitute himself "symbolically" as the wanting to offer something "new", modern day "Minneapolis" bred, aromatic, artistic embodiment of the ancient "Upper Egypt" bred Nefertem, god of the Lotus Flower... Hmmmm...okay...well...have a nice day everyone. That's a great read! Interesting, it is...
