"here on earth' also my favourite on this disc although it's about 10 minutes too short ! I wish he'd go on . I think the lyrics are about Manuela. I've been waiting to hear some obvious references to her and I believe this one is for sure ! "have a heart' may be about mayte though ! I like how he's kept his relationship to Manuela quiet. Maybe he regrets being so open about the Mayte marriage.

I think the best and most moving song on there is "Avalanche". Whether or not I agree with the lyrics didn't really matter for me, the music was really great! Close second to his cover of "A Case of U".

Arboretum is the one for me.
The only song on a piano CD that truly lets the piano do the talking. And sooo relaxing.

Here on Earth
When I first listend it to it last club year(yes, it was one of the dowloads from last year) I got up and hugged my fiancee. I think it's going to appear in our wedding DJ list, but it's sort of depressing. Like Rosie Gaines "I had a Dream". _________________________________________

I signed up late for year 2, so I'm still only familiar with the four tracks from last year. I think they're all great. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
Here's some food for thought. I've read a lot of criticism about these demos, not being a 'real' album and comments like that. To me though, this is at least as fulfilling as a 'real' (read that as fully produced and completed) album. At least for anybody who appreciates Prince as a musician. Doesn't Prince require that he have access to a piano at each place he stays? It's not such a leap to suggest that many, if not most, of the songs that end up on polished and produced albums were first composed like this on the piano. Has he ever made comments to confirm this? In fact these songs may just be the germinations of such tracks, though I can't say whether Prince intended these recordings as ideas, or whether the piano ballad was the intended end product. The Purple Music piano piece and finished studio recording were a great example of using piano to compose a track to later end up as a fully produced non-piano track.. Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

Am I the only one who really digs U're Gonna C Me? I thinks it's kinda powerful. "How embarrasing to be human!"

Have A Heart is my song. He plays the piano with such force that it almost made me stand at attention the first time I heard it. One Night Alone & Young and Beautiful is great too. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

The whole CD is worth playing all the way through each time for me. "Ur Gonna C Me" is beautiful piano and vocal work - awesome, mesmerizing stuff.
But "Avalanche" steals the show because it is simply musically and lyrically arresting.

"A CAse of U" an awesone version, can't get enough of it!! I wish the song was longer, imo.

Avalanche. Not only the best track on this album, but one of the greatest songs Prince has ever written. Could become a jazz standard.

Oh honey, you're not alone in this one. It's my fave, hands down. Powerful, beautiful, mesmerizing... you're the reason I took a rope & lassoed the moon to prove that when it comes to you there's nothing I won't do I'd stare into the sun if you'd be mine it's not so great a leap since to all others I am blind... DAMN

"Avalanche" for the passion and emotion
"One Nite Alone" for that piano playing near the end when you can hear his foot tappin on the pedals... so raw and with the hauntin falsetto. "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

Arboretum is the standout track for me.
This song should've been on another CD - one with better songs and less filler.

The whole album is Beautiful and filled with such Emotional Fortitude, however my favorite song is Avalanche and the reason being it is Gospel,Emotive, Inspiring,Profound,Shocking and Significant for the Turbulent Times in which we all live. Prince's voice is so Clear and it's an absolute Anthem and Prince is soo Alive with Passion in this song. When I first received this cd from the club it just was soo Personal and soo Deep and I Cried upon listening to it because it is So Beautiful a Piece and I just loved it So. Prince Knew which Chords to Hit and How to Grab You and it Worked. He made you FEEL! this is what is So SPECIAL about him to Me. His Music ,let's me Know I am Alive. It is Transcending and Quite Moving. He is a master Musician and Showman Extroidinaire. Nobody and No One in My Opinion can ever match his Gift. He is Truly Blessed by God. He is a Religious Man and you best Believe it cause it is true and deemed So. Believe It...
