I mean.

Prince was allready making a fool of himself with the songs that ended on the download albums 'The slaughterhouse' and 'The Chocolate Invasion'.

And now he is copying that kind of totally uninteresting, plastic dance-funk on autopilot AGAIN

A prince parody on a prince-parody. How far you can get detached from yourself?

Don't botter me with crap about 'You are some fan only loving his eighties output', because that is wrong: he did same great songs in the nineties, the albums werent just on par.

But this 'new song' sounds like some 15yo assembling his favourite Prince drum-loops and synth-sounds, combining them together, and not succeeding at all.

'There never will be another like me' by far belongs amongst the worst Prince-songs ever, and anyone who doesnt see that has problems with understanding and feeling what music is about.

I wholeheartedly agree, Riverpoet: this song is plastic and dull. It says and does nothing new, only serving to water down the quality of Prince's output. I truly hope it doesn't end up on any album.

its a shame cause there are interesting Time-like flourishes in there but at 50 something its embarassin' for him to be signing about all the things he can buy for a someone, going to da club and cute mamcitas.

I agree.

I've tried...I've really tried...but I just can't listen to it. The lyrics, chorus, and certain effects he uses are unfortunately vexing to me. Maybe I'll change once I see him perform the song, but for now, I listen to all the new tracks EXCEPT this one.

I whole heartedly do NOT agree with you 100%. This song is the motherfuckin bomb yo! It's got a great groove, you can dance to this and you can sing to it too. The song stays in your head and for me, it makes me feel good. I love it and I can't wait to see what else MPLSOUND sounds like!

When I visit Lotus Flowers...i stay there for the music and have to hit FAST FORWARD when this comes on. LOL. Ugh!

Hate to say it but this song (and the others) are growing on me. "There Never" reminds me of the 1986 era P and I don't mind that. I trashed the last 2 P CD's so these new tunes are making up for it.

And yeah it does sound a little funny hearing P sing about hangin' at the club picking up women at 50, but hey,why not??..He's one of the few cats that can pull that off.

I agree with it being lame. It's dull & lifeless. The lyrics speak for itself. This is a prime example of what can happen when your out of touch & you surround yourself w/ yes men. This is why prince needs an outside producer sooo bad.

Having said that Lotus Flower is "live" & sounds like a breath of fresh air, especially played right next to this b-side/corpse.
