Ok, Were All Xcited About PRINCE's New Music, The Site (to be), and Whats In Store.

So how Xactly will Prince Promote The New CD's to The Masses without A Label?
I know it can be done and Its been done!!!

Prince and AEG have worked very successfully together for some years now, they were Xcellent during Musicology & 21 Nights, on the Promotion Tip for the Tour(s).

Can AEG, promote the Music now???
Is Prince (even) using AEG for this particular project, I haven't heard anything (yet), Xcept that he's in Talks with a Major Retailer to Stock the Physical CD's and using the New Site to sell MP3's.

So as Friends or Fans (whichever you prefer), would it be a GREAT IDEA to use AEG to promote the music as they have/will promote the tour.

Is this even possible???
Is AEG simular to Live Nation???

I think it would be GREAT for Prince to use AEG as a promotional platform for the new album.

Imago...There are Alternatives, but the question is why is someone like PRINCE, having a hard time figuring that out when he's done it before LOL???
I know he knows what he's got to do to really give the New songs/cds a push to get exposure, which shouldn't be very hard in his case, cause he's got millions to pay for advertising and commercial spots, so I'm not sure why he just didn't think of that in the first place or did he.

Is this all publicity in itself just to say something to a major news paper like the L.A. Times and Rolling Stone Magazine???
I feel he knows what to do and is just stirring up a lil buzz for fans and music lovers.

I just think he's a bit more concerned about how to get the songs on the radio and he's got a good thing going when he invites radio programmers to the crib for an exclusive listen and conversation about the new music.

Lets wait and see, right now I'm wondering whether he's gonna use AEG as another platform for promoting the new cd's before the concert tour!!!

Forget the label for a moment, will Prince do some real promotion for these CD's? This seems to be the biggest undertaking he's done in quite some time and he loves doing a half-assed job promoting his music. What good can AEG do for the project if Prince doesn't go out there and play on a show like "Oprah" or "The Today Show" or "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno"? He needs to be EVERYWHERE with this project. The label or whoever is distributing these CD's can only do but so much. I'll be watching this one.

He did that with 3121 and Musicology, and Planet Earth was mainly focused on London. So it seems he's edging up to this with the new site (lets hope) this continues.

I'd love to see him perform Two New Songs On The Grammys, plus have a commercial spot during the show.

Do 60 Minutes, to clear up the Negative Press on His Misquotes, cause not everyone reads Prince.org or L.A. Times.

Plus do other shows: Oprah would be great, come and perform a few new songs and talk a bit about the new direction. That'll fill up an Hour!!!

Wonder...your right "where is prince" LOL, but he did appear to perform on American Idol, The BET Awards, SNL, Plus Black Sweat was everywhere!
But he shouldve done more talk shows like during the Musicology period to boost sales or awareness of the project. Who knows whats Prince's motive or whats going on in his brain when its time to promote a new project. Maybe he's just spoiled, because during the WB days, he didn't have to do any interviews or shows, just release albums, radio would take care of him, mtv would show videos regularly and he just go on tour. Those were the days, but he has more outlets now to get the music heard or seen. So we'll see...ultimately its his music and he does what he wants to do with it. He still makes good money off of it (regarless) if its 300k or A Million!

Perhaps he has learned from past mistakes and has matured to the point of taking this venure and all that it encompasses seriously. Its got people talking and speculating, but we will all have to wait for further news.

Hmmm...makes me wonder if all the critics love him in New York, enough to allow his Royal Badness to set up a String of Concert Dates this upcoming year, like he did in Las Vegas and London and sometimes L.A.

MZSADI...I honestly don't think Prince looked at his previous projects during the 3121 era as mistakes, he already said his success is smiling faces and finishing a project, readying it for release.

So as a Fan or Friend, we may get frustrated with how he promotes the music, but why do we get so upset with him over the promotion process when "we" already or "we will" have our own personal copy ? LOL

I really don't care at this point how the music is promoted, because as a DJ in the nightclub industry, I'll continue to spin his new music, if it fits into the mix. Sometimes it doesn't...Hey, I played "Turn me loose" at a Halloween Ball, and ppl didn't know the song, they heard me announce NEW PRINCE MUSIC and on it went, they bobbed their heads to it and many continued dancing in a drunken spell LOL

So...of course we want others to enjoy his great new/latest music, but if he doesn't push it as hard as it can be pushed out there, then only thing we can do is suck it up and just be happy we've got our hands on it!!!
