Billboard Music Awards....?

The Billboard Music Awards are to be held Dec 13 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas... including a "Legends" part of the show to include: Cher, Michael Jackson... and more?!

Prince WILL be in town... do ya think he might show?

Great promotion of the new set... I think he just might!!

will the "Legends" portion be those ridiculous impersonators? I know Billboard gave P good reviews for TRC but their awards shows are always about Billboard Statistics, ie sales. It would be cool though!

That's a good though. My thinking was there will be a lot of other artists in town as well. On ticketmaster it says "Prince and special musical guests." It will probably be the usual guests, but with the award show, there could possibly be a surprise or two.

Not to burst your bubble but on December 13th, Prince is going to be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that night and the show is done in L.A. and I think the show is done on the same day as the airdate, I could be wrong. Just don't be disappointed if Prince doesn't show if the award show is done on that day.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Jay Leno show is taped around the early afternoon, so its very poosible he shows up at BILLBOARD!

So his performance wouldn't conflict w/ the award show...nuff said

Here is the problem...

Jay Leno is taped at 4 P.M. Friday afternoon. It Lasts til 5 p.m.

The Billboard awards start taping at 5 p.m. and stop taping at 7 P.M.

Now, Prince's people would have to get the Equipment loaded up, put it in the truck, and then drive Prince and the Equipment into L.A. traffic at 5 p.m. on a friday to the Burbank airport. Traffic alone would take almost an hour. The flight from L.A. to Vegas is now an hour long. Used to be a 45 minute flight, don't ask me why it changed.

Prince has not charted in the top ten of Billboard since 1994. Can't see him doing it just yet. Besides do you really wanna see him on the same stage as Ashanti, Justin Timberlake, O-Town, and all these other acts that in Two years people will be going O-who? The pop phase is finally going out and the next two years of music, you will see the backlash for "Real Music by real Musicians".

A safer bet is Prince doing the VH-1 Awards on December 4th in L.A. (not saying it is going to happen, just a safer bet) but Prince that week should be doing some promotion for the One Night Alone Box set with the press (i.e. Rolling Stone, Blender, and others.)

So far, only appearance to be confirmed is Jay Leno. he did however cryptically hint in late October something is up with Larry King, which is also filmed in Los Angeles.

Best bet? Prince stays in L.A. til most likely Saturday night and then heads to Vegas. last time he played Vegas in 2000, he played San Jose, Ca, the night before and flew up the next day.
Silence Speaks A Thousand Words.
