Happy 7th birthday Mayte's Child Of The Sun! Nov 27, 1995 - Mayte's Child Of The Sun album is released.
As a whole, the album is slightly unsatisfying and not cohesive, but damn, there are some great tracks on there. Ain't No Place Like U, anyone??? I love that track. Incidentally, November 27 is also the date The Beatles released the Magical Mystery Tour album. I know which album I prefer. What about you?

Oh god that makes me feel really OLD! I love Mayte's voice actually - I know it't not very strong but it has a certain childlike, innocent quality to it - even when she's singing "Ain't No Place Like U". She always sounds pure to me. "If I Love U Tonite", and the duet with P are my favourites on this album.

there are some good tracks on here...but about halfway thru it seems they ran outta material..the musicianship is excellent tho, of course...
i still prefer elisa fiorillo's version of 'love's no fun...' but mayte does pretty well on it... this is another of those cd's i loved when i first got it...but don't listen to much at this point...

Anybody who found this album to have any redeeming qualities should get hold of the "Child Of The Sun" demos. They are ten times better than the tosh that was released.
