I don't get why people don't think that denying people rights classifies them as second-class citizens? But I'll stop there to avoid the wrath of the people on this messageboard that are sick of this topic. Dude, it was a simple question. I have better things to do than pour out my wrath upon ppl on the internet I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

JayJai said: sparklyboy said: I am choosing to accept what P said about "i read the bible with my gay friends" stuff as a sort of apology. I do love P and I am happy he at LEAST made SOME sort of statement about it. Even though I was really upset originally I do feel much better. He may still think of Gay people as second class citizens, hell I am sure there are million of assholes that think that but at least he has given me enough to pretend that he isn't one of them.
huh? Did he say that or gave any indication that he thinks that way? He never clarified what it was he actually said in the soup interview and didn't fully explain how he feels about the G's in this one. I feel pretty much the same way as sb. I was Miffed when the first artical came out but I'm happy he atleast said something to the effect of "Gay people ain't so bad.".

I got news for Prince: having gay friends doesn't mean you're not a raging homophobe. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

I love how P has all this insight on the sacredness of marriage -- when he has been married AND DIVORCED, um, at least twice that we know of!
The Bible also talks about keeping slaves...Thank goodness people chose to read with selective eyes! I would love for P to be on 'Ellen,' trying to tell her about his ideas of marriage. I wonder if her feelings about him have changed? What happened to "God is Love" and words from songs like 'Annastesia' - with lyrics like "liberate my mind" and "Have U ever wanted 2 play with someone so much U'd take any one boy or girl?" P used to sing "I'm not black or white, I'm not straight - or gay." Seems like P has changed. He's definitely "black or white" in his thinking and he has absolutely no connection to gay apathy. Sad really. It seems like now, more than ever, the world could use some of P's lyrics about "coming together," the ongoing apartheid in sexual orientation, and breaking stereotypes and social norms.... all of the things he stood for when he first burst onto the scene. Guess those days are gone.

I thought this topic was dead? I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

purplecam this topic will never die.
fact is prince has always had a lot of gay fans, still has, plus many "pro-gay" straight fans so to speak. when comments like "people who stick them up everywhere" are made, boundaries are reset and people feel offended and or excluded. fact is also that prince himself has always been pretty gay. doesn't necessarily mean that he is, but the female clothes, the heels, the make up, the high signing and female like dancing, and the fact that he is still not able to let all that go, apart from the clothing, speaks volumes. Prince likes gays, always has and always will. At the same time he likes JW's and obviously finds a lot of comfort in that faith. So he got himself in a sticky situation here with that interview, that won't get resolved just like that with an explanation here and a friendly gesture there, nor with anybody in here begging for this topic to go to P&R. What is that with some in here? If a topic ABOUT PRINCE gets a bit too hard too handle, some immediately want to "dump" it in P&R. [Edited 1/5/09 1:34am]
