Here's my view, I don't see Prince as being a bigot. I don't know what he thinks of gay marriage, nor do I care. One thing I do know, I will be praying for Prince and I as a gay man will continue to support Prince and all that he does. I'm a fan for life.

Sounds like it's the company line, their 'god' taking care of those pesky gays, hence lessening the chances that Prince was misquoted in the original New Yorker article. He said it and meant it and no amount of 'some of my best friends' defense can save him from the closed minded bigot label.

I'm ok with him not being an advocate of Gay marriage (to each their own) what I'm NOT ok with is speaking out against it in a hypocritical and irresponsible manner... the way the whole New Yorker thing (allegedly) went down. I personally think he could've (and should've) clarified something like that right away, but that's me.

For once in his life I wish he'd fuckin speak clearly, in normal sentences that need not be deciphered. We may never see that day.

But, I'm glad he spoke...and not some "rep".

Ultimately he might just want to keep his fans without the church turning its back on him and that I won't be mad at him for. There are plenty of stars who identify with a church (few of which are accepting of gays) but manage to remain friends of the gay community (or at least impartial) on a personal level. The article says that the subject was the first thing he wanted to discuss. It strikes me as reaching out and wanting to clarify (albeit in Princebonics ).

This thread is brilliant, I think it got me hooked on gay stuff finally!

Someone as stooped in religion as he is, I'd be VERY surprised (and impressed) if he wasn't homophobic.
