Looks better than ever!!

In the black and white photos, he looks bored and almost cocky..."another day, another show". But in the new pics, to me, it looks like he's saying how much longer? I mean, really, how far can he go musically? Sure, he's an awesome performer and all, but where does he go from here? He's done so much and for that I am grateful...but to me, the pics show a reflective ALMOST sad Prince...I dunno, I may be off on this one. I have to disagree with those who say that he looks relaxed...I can't put my finger on the emotion that lingers in those pics...

I may just need an eye test, but in the B&W mirror picture, his hand doesn't seem to be in the same position as the reflection. If you look at the little finger, it's away from his face near the camera, but in the mirror, it's almost against his cheek. Is there more to the picture than meets the eye and is it not really a true reflection? Or is it just the odd way he's holding his hand?

i think its a good comparison to then and now, how hes changed, and matured...well not so much of the matured. lol

i dont understandwhat the coincidence is though. is it that prince did then and still looks into a mirror as he prepares to go onto stage. or even more spookily that he still gets driven to his shows in the back of a limo.

The only thing I must add is if we are going to Read more into things and try to Analyze everything we will drive ourselves crazy. Let's just enjoy Prince and his music and not try to Figure everything out. I know I don't wanna do that anymore. All I want is to Enjoy his music and him in concert. He's Udderly Amazing and I just am so Taken by Him. Thumbs Down to any Naysayers. Prince bats 1000 in my Book.

The black and white ones look much better (when you see them at full size) when compared to the newer color ones. The print quality on the BW one is alot better. The color one looks worked over in photoshop, are missing the rich detail of the prior one, and the focal length makes it look too flat and distant. The expression on Prince's face is also alot more dynamic than in the color mirror shot; Prince is actually stopping to ponder something instead of streching his face out to smear some foundation on. He just looks kind of straggly in the second mirror pic, maybe its because of the half frown, i dunno.

The car shot as well, Prince's eyes just 'pop' in the BW one, like something just grabbed his attention. In the newer one he looks alot more natural and down to earth but the expression looks like he is in a coma. It feels a little more posed than the first shot. Once again, I like the print quality better on the BW than the newer one. But thats just a preference of mine to film grain over digital artifacts.

The one thing that I noticed about the newer pics was that P looks alot more down to earth in them. The wild typhoon hairdo is gone in place of a more conservative and simpler style. His outfits look more like common attire than the over the top superstar stuff he used to wear.

After looking at the packaging of his last few CDs, the photos now, and his outfits, even the change of makeup on his counter, you can see he's on more of a budget now that he's ventured out on his own, as opposed to being backed by a label.

How can you all get so whatever at some pictures?

Yes, I can see the graphics at the bottom and at the top but the rest cannot be opened (can't see and access the forums).

hmmm, I have no problems with the picture gallery or the other parts of the site, only the Prince Forum doesn't work.

Thats weird, you really need to give me some addition information about that that problem (what browser you are using, platform)

I think you underestimate the control freak Prince really is.
He is his own marketing manager, he decides and chooses what goes public or not. Do you really think the photo's where spontaneously taken? Gimme a break.



I am talking about the simularity between those images, if somebody just copies what has been done before, i call that a lack of creativity. Besides, i have been a free-lance photgrapher for a couple of years, so i feel i am entitled to say something about that.

But don't get me wrong, i like seeing new images from tha man! But i need more!

With all the Woman in the World any Man in Prince's position is Crazy to get Married really. There are just Too many Ladies out there that would Oblige his Needs . He should stay the Playboy.

I think the irony of the whole thing is although the pictures look the same as far as poses and settings go, there is no one real meaning behind them. Everyone and their mother is going to have a reaction as to what they think they mean. Prince is an enigma and some people think he is a genius some think he is a fool but no matter what Prince never gives straight explanations as to why he does things. We could ponder these photos all day and all night and never agree on why he did this. I love the photos! I think he looks good no matter what and I will just leave it at that. So what if he chooses the poses. I tell people how to take photos of me. I'm sure a lot of people prefer certain poses over others it says nothing about their creativity. I wouldn't even dare question the creativity of a man like Prince, I don't care if he poses in the same position for the rest of his life. I don't think these are meant for the museum for curators to ponder I think they are just for the sheer fun of the coincidence and to make people reflect on him then and now and whatever conclusion they come to is merely their opinion and not necessarily the truth.

These pictures refect an artist who is reaping the joys & pains of being an artist who is FREE.Freedom has a price and many are not willing to pay the costs.

Many artists have ventured into this journey unwillingly.Their record labels cast them aside once they were not the "in thing" with teenie boppers.The music "great" CONTINUES to be great long after the sales fade.

The list is long Stevie Wonder,Earth Wind & Fire,George Clinton & the P-Funk allStars,BB King,Joni Mitchell to mention a few.Did these artists stop being great when Billboard stopped charting them ?

It is mighty funny that respect is given to artists like Areosmith & Ozzy Osborne and their sales have declined.

It is mighty funny that Madonna is not critized when her "new" album was plastic sounding.It continued to "chart" even though sales did not match previous albums.

These artists are still on the comfortable plantation.They are "icons" because MTV will show the video.V-h1,BET,Mtv ect. are agents of the Plantation.

Will your thinking regarding Prince change because he sells 2 million records and wins a Grammy & goes back to the farm ?Or will you continue to diss Prince because he wants to make his own money?

I do believe it was intended - therefore it was posed, but I don't see anything wrong with this. We've seen hundreds Prince pics and most of them had been posed, so what's the big deal?

Actually I like the idea of the repetition. The difference between the time frame and the mind set Prince was in 1993 (when the B&W pics were taken) and now is HUGE. For me it's like saying - I still do what I did almost a decade ago. But I'm a different man.
