For Prince Fans with Paper Memorabilia: I bought this as a Christmas gift for a friend, who happens to have TONS of old Prince ticket stubs and other paper memorabilia from past shows (and no proper place to display them).
This woman creates wonderful hand-made books (not only of Prince stuff). She told me she will be making more album ones and I told her that I know of one or two (or a few thousands) other Prince heads who might also appreciate her product. She does custom work, so if you have an extra LP version of whatever and want her to turn it into a super-cool book to keep your Princely "delicates" in, drop her a note! Here's a link to her shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop....id=5382859 Here's the book I purchased from her: more pics of it at: http://www.etsy.com/view_...d=14792396 [Edited 12/29/08 8:47am] [Edited 12/29/08 9:39am]

All you need to do is put [img] ahead of the image link and [/img] after... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I loves ya anyway... Thanks. But seriously, do you see the pics? I'm utterly confuzzled because they're posted in the same way I've posted in other threads. I see the pics in the other threads but not the ones here.

And the point of posting all those gigantic photos is...? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I have bookmarked some of those as possible future gifts. They're all on Etsy (as is the subject of this thread).Maybe the Etsy connection is the reason for the post? I'm not sure why they're gigantic tho.

Is there anyone at the Org that recognizes that the use of images owned by a third party to create a product based on those images without permission is a violation of copyright law? Not to mention a violation of Prince's right to likeness and publicity. If his minders get wind of this lady and her little business, which is likely since it has been posted here for all to see, I would image she will receive a cease and desist soon.
When will you guys finally get the message? You can not do whatever you want with other folks' material or images! What the hell is it gonna take to get through? We've been over and over this same issue again and again....

[Edited 12/29/08 11:07am] Artists create with materials (found/discarded/bought) under "fair use" all the time. Most non-douchey artists look at this as flattery and choose not to sue their own fanbase or other artists. Creating one of a kind art/items with found objects is MUCH different than, say making and selling t-shirts with his purrty lil' face on them. This particular item I posted was a One of a Kind item the artist will create upon request from someone who owns the materials. She isn't capitalizing or mass marketing anything. She simply sells a skill/craft/service and her artistry. She takes an item you already own and makes it into a keepsake for your own personal use. She is payed for that service, not anything to do with him. It's no different from taking ones old album covers and having them framed by a framer for display in your home.
