The famous 1983 First Avenue show. Here's how late I am to the party, I finally saw most of that show on video. What an amazing night that must have been. Some lucky folks in that crowd. Too bad I wasn't a fan back then..lol
A Case Of U--God, stunning, weird guitar. He wishes Crimson and Clover had this many risks. Electric Intercourse--what can one say. Wow. He really gives his all on this one. We need more keyboard work from him live. Notice how much he is sweating? He never sweats anymore. lol. He must have on some body cream that is anti-sweat..lol Computer Blue kills the album version. Really classic performance. Hopefully, one day he will release this on dvd--in full hd, with great sound. We can only hope. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Its got that raw young tough offensive energy...
but it was filmed before HD video cameras were being used. It would most likely look like the Purple Rain live concert in full quality. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I wish I had been there too...I never made it 2 Minneapolis until April of 2001...to stand in front of the closed "First Avenue." I tried 2 imagine what it would have been like to be there in the 80's...however, in spirit I was a fan that was missing from the crowd. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

By all accounts, it was insanely hot inside First Avenue that night. I think it was Dr. Fink who said that was the hottest gig (in terms of temperature) they ever played. (Ever been in Minneapolis in August? It can be cuh-razy hot that time of year.) We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I wish I was there too cause that was an incredible show. Pure fire from start to finish. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

You're not so late to the show...I've been listening to Prince seriously since 86, and I also just saw it for the first time a couple months ago. As a show, it's probably only legendary because of the songs that are heard for the first time. (Wonder how well it would sell if it was ever released as an official DVD).
