The song is pretty...The lines just sound like Prince is procrastinating on 4Ever.
I can see where 4Ever would frighten the man Prince is...that has women at his fingertips...however, hesitating with love intellectually may appear to be taking the value of "Now," for granted. Prince claims that He would go crazy if He didn't marry this woman and appears to be content with that result that the song itself creates.
