When you look at what Prince did during the 1980s and 1990s, the guy was putting out album after album after album. So much so that it was one a year for awhile there, and it had a huge part to do with the problems he had with Warner Bros. who thought he was oversaturating the market.

But when you look at what's happened since 2000 - Prince's output has seemingly diminished. Do you think he's just not releasing as much? Or is he just not making as much music as he used to?

What I find particularly sadly poetic about the whole thing is how he wanted out of his contract supposedly because his output was being held-back. Then once he's free of the constraints of Warner Music, he slows down. As if not fighting the machine caused him to lose his fire.

Now, I'll say this: With 3 albums of material coming out this year, it looks like Prince may have found his inspiration again. Maybe, even though some here don't seem to like the idea, Bria is his muse.

Mayte was his muse for a long while, and it produced some great songs. Manuela, though I know posters here adored her, seemed to be a muse that inspired great songs, but not necessarily a lot of material.

I dunno. Just a topic for discussion amongst us fans :p

Love is Prince's muse, whether it be for the world or that special blessing of someone in particular.
