Just like with Tamar, I was really happy when I saw Celestina spotlighted so close with Prince, regardless of his confusing disposition towards her in the video.

As with everyone one of us, he should pick someone who loves him WHO HE IS as a person, someone who could be real with him, and not someone who wants to be seen or have access to his money, but as a celebrity that could be hard i guess.

Please don't get it twisted where I am concerned. I know that a real man knows that "chicks that look hot naked are a dime a dozen." I have always prided myself on my intelligence, talent, personality, authenticity, patience and compassion. The fact that I look hot in my drawers is a result of good genes (something that I have no control over) and a healthy lifestyle (exercise and diet). I work with young adult women (late teens - early 20s) and I am always stressing the importance of developing their self esteem and self respect so that they know that they are so much more than the characterization of themselves that they see in videos or hear in the songs that they listen to.

However, we live in a society that proliferates images of women as close to naked as possible. This is part of the reason why female entertainers seem to wear less and less clothing every year. They have accepted it as part of the formula for success. Look at Beyonce, Britney, Rihianna, etc. That's where we are as a society. It is a far bigger issue than I care to discuss now. However, it should suffice to say that, trying to find pictures of models, actresses, singers, etc. fully clothed is difficult. That is why you see the pics you do here.

I remember being at a housewarming when the video came on, and several of the women were like, "That's a Prince video? What? He never has any dark girls in his videos or movies." Even Rosie Gaines pointed that out time him back in the '90s. However, he does not seem to care.

That is why people were so confident in stating that there was nothing "going on" between Tamar and Prince besides work. However, they automatically assume that there is something more with Prince and Bria. We really don't know what goes on behind closed doors. However, I do not recall Tamar sitting courtside at any Laker games.

And why can't Prince have BLOND HAIREd Big BREASTED Chicks in his VIDEOS if he wants to? Why are you ALWAYS saying PRINCE has a COLOR ISSUE? Is this to make him FEEL GUILTY for the TYPE HE LIKES WHICH MAY BE DIFFERENT FROM YOURSELF? For that MATTER why not have OVERWEIGHT WOMEN ALSO on his ARMS! This is ALL RIDICULOUS. Prince goes for HOT and SEXY TYPES. I have seen SUSANNA, MAYTE, MANUELA and SHELIA when he dated them they were PETITE and THIN and BEAUTIFUL. He goes for CERTAIN TYPES.

I talk to girls all day long who have serious hang-ups about their darker skin and they relate it to the images that they see. I listen to the boys go on and on about how they want a redbone, a Latina or a "mixed chick" with "good hair," as they put it. I do an exercise where I have them describe their ideal mate. Now before that I talk about the difference between abstract and concrete subjects. What is always funny to me is that the girls describe their mates in abstract terms of the personality traits that they want. The boys, on the other hand, describe concrete physical traits and light skin and long hair are always at the top of the list followed by a nice body. So do not tell me that these things do not matter, especially to this generation that is so heavily shaped by media images. As I said, I work with them every day.

With regard to posting pics of Jessica White, as I said before, she is a VS and swimsuit model, so that is all I could find. I never said that skin color was most important in selecting a mate. Please point out where I ever stated that? You will not find that because I NEVER said it. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT! The problem is that you are oversimplifying a very complex issue here. Quite frankly, I do not have time to go into it. However, if you do some reading about paper bag tests and other issues related to skin color and the beauty ideal in the black community especially, you might better understand my posts.

Finally, just because a woman has self respect and high self esteem does not mean that she cannot pose in a bikini. The two are not mutually exclusive. That is a very tired ideology. I am an intelligent, confident and self-respecting woman who can work a pant suit, a turtleneck and ankle length skirt, a mini skirt or a bikini. My clothing does not change who I am on the inside. The point that I was making before is that women (who are not swimsuit models) do not always have to be portrayed half naked.

Anyway, I have to let this discussion go, because I see that this is not the place for it. I need to go back to lurking on this site, because I see that intelligent, thoughtful conversations are difficult to have here. Too many people on this site either lack the requisite knowledge for certain discussions or they like to misinterpret comments that they disagree with. Things just stay too surface level for me around here. However, to each his own.
