Hey wait one cotton pickin second. This thread was about Prince charging the "elite fams" too much for the ONA set; and not about bashing SMelody. Cool your jets when it comes to trash talking SMelody or else there will be FUNK to pay (and it will cost ya more than $100.oo for a ONA set!!!). uh...well, i HOPE you're right. but the club won't even answer my polite e-mails asking to which address it was shipped (i changed mine in mid-november), and every other time it has taken at least 2 weeks and up to 5 weeks for me to receive anything from the club...yeah, that's 5 weeks from the so-called "shipping date" for the days of wild single...(that's what $7 shipping gets you!!), and i live less than 300 miles away. i could drive there, pick up my cds, and still be back by lunchtime tomorrow, DANG.

i don't understand why they can't just let us know what our tracking number is so that we can go to www.ups.com and check the progress. doesn't the $100 cover a tracking number??

Um, ok, can you explain to me how someone who lives in alaska (to go along with the example) is a LAZY ASS because they don't or are not able to fly somewhere to see a ONA show?? I agree with you that certainly one would have to think that it is highly unlikely prince would take the tour there, but are you really so dim-witted that you can't understand that the club advertised it would send out 4 cd's throughout the year? (ona, xenophobia, best of squiggle, madrid 2 chicago)...regardless of whether or not you or anyone else are happy that you are goign to be getting ona + ona live, that is blatant false advertising. if i lived somewhere where i knew i wasn't going to be able to go to a concert, but i still love prince and want to support him (and buy into the false promises made by the club), i would be pretty peeved that i wasn't going to be getting those cd's and that the club seems to think it's okay because "it's prince."

those of you who are happy with the club, GREAT!! but please understand that there are others who do NOT receive responses to their e-mails, who do NOT receive the e-mails sent from the club, and who do NOT think that it is okay to substitute one item for another AFTER receiving payment without offering a refund if wanted.

Prince dropped the lawsuit because it was completely without merit and he knew it. If he thought he had a slight chance, he would have taken it. I mean, how can he POSSIBLY claim that he missed out on royalties when he ISN'T EVEN RELEASING THOSE FILES HIMSELF? (xenophobia, and might i say THANK GOD FOR BOOTLEGGERS. this set is the best thing to come from prince all year, and i got it FOR FREE.)

As for your comment about NdegeOcello: Excuse me? She's not allowed to have an opinion on the matter? Her name was mentioned in every news report that I heard, so I think she is not overstepping the "theocratic order" by saying that matthew was only putting up links to the mp3's. And SINCE WHEN does Prince have "respect" for other artists? Maybe with his "I love U2...but not the band" comment? Or how about with his "So-called King gives birth to so-called Prince" comment? (Which is one of my favorite lines from an AMAZING album, by the way).

Me'Shell is allowed to have an opinion on the matter. Prince is no better than her, just because he's Prince. Jeez.

OK, I'm having heart palpitations, so I can't even read any more. Matthew...rock on, man. VERY glad to hear the suit was dropped.

As investors, Prince Fans are a fruitlessly funny yet fickle bunch. The "unspoken" bottom line for some seems to be the belief that the money went to a good cause.

As a Club, NPGMC is completely out of control with its practice of teasing members with false lure on its website contrary to reality.

As an entity, Prince is not fooling many orgers by feeding clever worded propaganda & evangelism with the root of its sarcasm based on greed in the name of freedom. But for those he succeeds to hypnotise and fool.. become more his spineless followers than his fan/fam/friends.
