Prince is alienating his fans and literally only the Kool-Aid drinkers and JWs are left.

JWs love it because he's quoting scripture and trust me, I know lots of JWs and boy do they love to quote scripts. In fact, they have conversations purely by quoting script. Its kinda interesting. Almost like confutious (? spelling) in that you can interpret differently, but I digress.

And the Kool-Aid drinkers "oh Prince is such a genius, oh how he plays the guitar and writes lyrics like voting sucks," its so deep you might drown in those waters lol.

The real fans, like me. We're still in hibernation re: Prince. Won't buy anything of his until simply, he makes something of quality. But as usual, the man won't record a live concert and sell it more than once every 20 years. Get real P!

I'm a real fan and I am feeling just fine with Prince.

Although 4ever bores the shit out of me now, the other 4 tracks are all very enjoyable and I am super excited for his new album.

He's provided far more than he had to for us over the years, not only in quantity but in quality. The whole "We made you and we'll break you" attitude is exactly what Prince doesn't want from his fans.

Prince's "real" fans are just music lovers, are they not? If you expect someone to provide something for you just to satisfy you whims, is that truly the definition of a fan?

I like the new songs. Do I think that these songs are gonna set the world on fire? No, but I think they're pretty cool.

What the real fans want is music they will purchase from him. If he doesn't want to give us quality, we will not buy, comprende?

Check my initial statement. Prince turns anything live into Gold "Gold" get it? "Gold Experience"? Well almost anything. Saw him do "Black Sweat" on some I think youtube and man it was bad. That song is so bad, not even Prince's great live performing saved it.

personally i don't think he's quoting enough scripture... 1 song out of the last 5... and he's not quoting... just sharing his views... and really it's not much more than he's ever done before going way back to the controversy album

i was driving around today, listening to the five new tracks, and the instrumentation is mostly flawless, the beats groovable and the vocals have soul. I can't ask for more from any musician.
the days of Purple Rain and Controversy are long gone and I don't expect them to come back. it would be like the beatles being asked to write songs like "love me do" all the time, or "i want to hold your hand". Their music deepened and developed as they got older.
Prince is a far better musician now than he was before. so goodbye to jamie starr, Rock...he's long time retired. this is a far deeper Prince.

if you don't like it, go listen to Rockwell, MJ or Billy Ocean.

I have been a fan of Prince since the beginning. Some music was not my taste but there are always absolute precious jems with each album. I love the new rock songs as well!!
