Can U Come Outside and Play?

I just heard this prince track - (it might be called "Play")

Anyone know when it was recorded, what project it was for, and are their any more tracks where he sings like this. I don't recall hearing him sing quite like that before.

According to Uptwn's The Vault, it was recorded in September / October, 1990 and was included in a sequenced but unreleased version of the New Power Generation maxi single.
