Would Prince b a better songwriter if he had a wife and kids?

i think so .....he would have more things to talk about instead of proclaming himself to be a dime at 50! his kids would have stopped him from making embarassing songs like that.

I have kids around the country by different mamas and they inspore me 2 do bettr.

A real wife(not trophy wives hes had before) someone from the ghetto who would put him in check.

Do u think if he had a family the music songwriting would be bettr?

oh-oh you got the fams after you!

You know I was thinking the same thing. Kids keep you in check.
They make you realize what things are really important. As they grow, you grow.
They make you re-think your relationship with your mother, father, grandparents and the world around you.
He hasn’t been blessed with kids, but he’s been blessed in a whole lot of other ways too. In a way, I think religion has taken up that part in him though.

Celebrities sure are over psychoanalyzed and scrutinized aren’t they? razz

Ok, what I say here isn't exactly my view, but it seems to be the popular one on Prince.

It's felt his earlier material, when he was more angry, searching and desperate to prove himself, is of a better quality in both lyrics and musical output than his recent material (as I said, I don't entirely agree, but it's all opinions).

Many feel that's due to losing that edge being a single, horny, curious young man gives you. He's comfortable now with himself and his path in life, and maybe that's reflected in his musical style now. Take the controversy and rawness from The Rainbow Children when life was turbulent and changing for him and compare it to the laid back, I'm-having-a-ball attitude on Musicology.

Would he be better with a wife and kids? I doubt it severely.
So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

The idea of marriage, or monogamy, isn't unique to the human race. Also, it does have certain genetical benefits in terms of producing and raising children.

That said, I personally believe the notion of marriage or even monogamy is a crock of socialised and religiously driven sh*t. It's not in our nature at all (men or women) to be with just one person in such a way.

I should be careful what I wish for though - if we get rid of such a convention, and take away that "he's available at least" thing, I have nothing to offer any woman! lol razz

...is voluntary celibacy meritorious in the sight of God?...

..no....those who live single from selfish motives are displeasing to God..for they fail to perform their share of social duties....

...is not celibacy..on the part of some persons...a SACRIFICE made by them for the sake of devoting themselves more ENTIRELY to the service of humanity?....

..that is a very different thing....i said-from selfish motives....EVERY sort of personal sacrifice is MERITORIOUS when it is made for a GOOD END...the GREATER the sacrifice...the GREATER the MERIT....

I hear you loud and clear on the "calling himself a dime at 50" deal. I actually thought that when he married Mayte and (seemed to) settle down that he was heading in the direction he needed to go.

Not necessarily depends on the nature of the relationship.

Seriously, love makes everything better, and brings things remarkably into focus. One's priorities change. I don't know that we've ever seen P. in a true partnership that was based on mutual respect and unconditional love. The wives he's had all gained tremendous benefit from their affiliation. It would be interesting to see him with someone that had absolutely no agenda, other than to love him. In fact, it would be cool if P. was married, and we never really saw the woman or knew who she was, she'd be so low profile. That may be the way to go.

Also, by a better songwriter, you mean..?
