I stopped listening to the radio because of all the '"crap" and manufactured music/artists that are out there, with no "real music" skills, and songs (if that's what you want to call it).
What is so ignorant, is that today, some people think that every song a real artist puts out should be a hit (and I'm referring to real artists, not the thug-like, wear my pants below my ass, minstrel show, look like a clown, grill teeth wearing I wish I could be a "real artist" characters). Today, you have "no talent", manufactured garbage, that last for a couple of months or less than 10 years, who might do a couple of hits, and then forgotten, if even remembered. An artist who has been around for 30 years, is still in demand, has an enormous following, can still sell out tickets, name is known worldwide, and have and still outlast some of these new or so-called artists today (who aspire or wish they could reach Prince's music career level), is what you call a successful artist with real musician skills and experience. In the early to late 70s, we had tons of good artists out there and not everyone of their songs were hits, nor did we expect every song to be one, because it was the artists themselves that were respected by the fans and the appreciation for their music. Not every artist will ever achieve the heights Prince has taken his music or career, Hey and if anyone thinks I sound like a "fam" or drink purple kool-aid, well then...I don't give a isht.
