Willing & Able Video vs. Album Version

I was watching the Willing & Able video and noticed that it is different from the album version. Was the video version ever released on a single or b-side, or was it just for the video? It's a really kicking version.

I love the video version more. There is more life to it, more energy... so dynamic. The band are on top form and Prince gives one of the most soulful vocal deliveries of his career.

Wish i had it on mp3 because i dont use video anymore

Video version for me. I love both (in fact one of my absolute favs) but the video version is awesome.
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

the difference is because it's a live take vs the studio version on the album.

the day this video was taped was a busy day 4 prince and the NPG, cause they filmed this video, money don't matter 2night and call the law ..
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It's a pity this version isn't available. sad I would LOVE to bump it in my iPod or car. I rarely watch videos, especially VHS, which is the format I have of this video.

I agree, that Prince's vocal delivery was top notch. I always thought having Rosie around influenced/challenged Prince to be a stronger vocalist. Some of his best live vocal performances came when she was in the band. For example, I LOVE his vocals on the Special Olympics performance of "Diamonds and Pearls" - he and Rosie sounded magnificent together then as well as on their live performances of "Nothing Compares to U."
