Prince - Batman OST you think they will ever remaster albums like this?
I'd love to hear The Future in an upgrade quality.. That song has aged fine

My kids wanted 2 watch "The Dark Knight," last night...I sat there thinking how I loved Jack Nicholson as the Joker, and I kept seeing Prince in the "Partyman" video. I got halfway through it before the violence got 2 me, I quit watching it. I was surprised I was disappointed. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I'm not sure whether this album not being part of the Paisley Park canon makes it more or less likely to ever get the remaster treatment. Since Prince seems indifferent if not hostile to revisiting the past via remasters, it probably doesn't make a difference.
I've been really surprised over the years to find how many people support & defend this album. I enjoyed it enough at the time of release, but it never really had legs with me, and every time I've revisited it, it sounds like a competent, workmanlike soundtrack: reasonably well-crafted, but pretty dull. The Future & Electric Chair are the keepers, I'd say. [Edited 12/25/08 8:09am]

the overall album isn't good.. however, 3 to 4 songs get a pass for me.

Actually, I am hoping that the album is released next year as a 20th anniversary type thing. My CD was destroyed a few years ago, and I have looked high and low for a reasonably priced replacement, but have yet to find it! The Future and Electric Chair, I would like to hear again! It took me years to get into this album, and I still only like three or four tracks from it, and I still dislike that Tim Burton movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.
Chris Nolan´s version of Batman is sooooo much better than any other Batman movie. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I have to agree with damosuzuki in that the album doesnt really have legs with me either, although it is a well rounded piece of work.
