Private Joy remake by Cheyne? I just found this on another site. Does anyone have any info on the remake. I see that it was produced by Greg Phillengaines and Jimmy Iovine. It was on the Weird Science soundtrack. Not a bad remake. The girl sounds like a mixture of Madonna and LaToya Jackson.

isn't Cheyne the girl that Madonna originally wrote "Into the Groove" for? [Edited 12/8/08 22:59pm]

And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

We all know LaToya covered, it no? This doesn't sound that different musically. She might have been "covering" LaToya's version!
I could imagine this girl singing "Into the Groove". Not as good as the original...probably not even as good as Regina's "Baby Love", my favorite one hit wonder.

Funny because I've seen this movie a million times in the eighties. I think we had The Movie Channel and it probably played on there often. Don't remember this cover

Cheyne also released a 12" with 3 versions of this cover:
Private Joy (Extended Version) (5:30) Private Joy (Instrumental) (5:44) Private Joy (Bonus Beats Plus Bass) (4:28)

I've never heard this version and I've never watched the movie through and through. Is it worth seeking out (the song)? ..."think from a positive place, and eliminate the negative fate"...

Listen to the clip (if you can). Again, it's nearly the same as LaToya's if you've heard that.

Yep, though Cheyne seemed to have a deal with Warner Brothers/Sire-Records at the time : 'Into The Groove', without a question one of Madonna's most important and most popular dance-tunes ever, was only released as a single in Europe and Japan. In the USA the song was the B-Side of the Angel-Single - which ultimately is the reason for the chart-success of Angel! The song appeared in the movie 'Desperately Seeking Susan' but was never released on the soundtrack album. Originally the song was written for another Warner Bros. / Sire-artist called Cheyne. However Madonna herself decided to record the song on her own for an inclusion in the movie. The original title of the track was 'Get Into The Groove'. Madonna herself frequently refers to it as such. In 2003, the track re-appeared as a new remix by Missy Elliott in a denim jeans-commercial for GAP. Now called 'Into The Hollywood Groove' [because it was a mix of 'Into The Groove' and Madonna's 2003-single Hollywood], it got also released as a Promo Only Single CD. www.madonna-online.ch/m-o...single.htm
