It sounds like you are describing the 5 song radio promo that was sent out. I hope the box set has different versions of these songs...Prince's energy on MUSE seems quite low on the 5 trk. So far, the best MUSE i've heard is from DC.
sorry im not answering your question. i am wondering too!

I think it is a mix of the two. The Box-set version I heard on Joe Kelley does not begin with the same introduction as the 'ONA Live EP', which is the version you are describing. On the Box-set version he says 'leave that blood alone' and includes a few more lyrics from 'Silicon'. The solo's that follow are also radically different from the 'EP' version. However, when the jam subdues (you know the part) and he asks the audience questions, it reverts to the 'EP' version exactly. The dialouge is identical. It stays with the 'EP' version for awhile before it alters back to the 'new' version again.

A little bit strange, but there you go. Prince must have liked the two portions of the song more from the seperate performances.

I hope this answers the question.

From what I heard on Joe Kelley 'Strange Relationship' is also identical to the Box-set version. However, it is a great rendition of the song, with alot of energy.

When Joe Kelley aired Xenophobia from the live set I commented that it is most likely taken from Portland, Oregon, April 30 - as Prince shouts out 'Portland' part way through!!! I'm waiting for my copy to arrive though.
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
