Space CD SIngle Just going through my Prince stuff and...

Space was one of those cd singles that I bought even tho I wasn't that wild about the song. Ended up loving the remixes which made me love the song. Since then I buy my favorite artists cd singles rather or not I like the song because often a cd single can turn your head around. | |

Was the "Universal Love Remix" the version they played on the radio back in '94, the one that's more upbeat and bouncy?  remember hearing "Space" on the radio back then and digging the HELL out of it!!! was like, MAN, this is the SHIT!!! Then got the "Come" CD and was like, WTF! This ain't what heard on the radio b4! This sucks! | |

This single really is an under-rated treasure, and the last of the good Prince maxi-singles...not in the tradition of his heyday of releasing singles, but as a fluke triumph in the crappy remix-fests he eventually succumbed to. Great music. I wish it were longer. | |

Great single, but man I never could

I like the remix much better than the album version too. Same thing with the original 'Come' and album version which just sucked. I guess he counts 'Come' as a real Prince album--check the discography section @npg.com-- but i can't tell why.
Except for papa, dark, and letitgo-the album is just lifeless(which would explain the death of Prince, right?) | |

I also want to thank this site for getting me back into Prince music. It has been a while since I have listened to his stuff, but I found this site a couple of weeks ago and have been picking up the albums I had not bought before. The last album I bought was Come, so I am way behind the times, but I am catching up now. | |
