That would require me listening to Oasis, and I think I'd rather under go open heart surgery awake and without the anesthesia.

I believe that an oasis is a watering hole in the desert.

Oh and a couple of wankers from Manchester who think they are from Liverpool.

Liverpool? I think they are pretty proud they're from Manchester and like to make sure everyone knows it.

As for Gold being similar to Champage Supernova - I can't hear it at all I'm afraid.

They're both quality tunes though.

Your clearly a huge fan of Oasis.

Saying that you hear the Beatles in their tunes is probably the best compliment you could give them!!

Calling them Manchester United fans is probably a bit more hurtful!!!!

Nice one.

However...way back in the day (1995) when all this oasis shit was in the press...I was like, what the fuck is all this hype about a tribute band. Give me BLUR anydays of the week! Noel is an average songwriter and Liam is trying 2 B LENNON, theiving MANC bastard get your own look!

Ahh Oasis V Blur.

Blur (well, Damon to be precise) def won that one. However, back in the 90's Oasis were much more popular, sold more records and filled more seats at their concerts.

Damon Albarn has come a lot further musically though.

Mods and Rockers all over again.

Maybe on a slightly lesser scale.

Maybe not quite so much violence.

Maybe a bad comparison.

No offence Thread Starter (not 2 be confused with the Prodigy's Fire Starter)

New Power Soul v Champacne Supersaver.

GOLD v Rubber Soul (the real BEATLES) now that there is a tough one.

Why compare a wee midget genius to these (oasis not the Beatles) tits, not even in the same breath my man not even close. Me thinks he is in better and more fitting company with the originals. tarra as they say in oasisland.

Actually Champagne Supernova is a classic song. It does have a similar sound, especially during the middle guitar part. It's the same tempo.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

THANK YOU!

Lots of haters on Oasis on here - so they are derivative, and. . . ?

Prince has derived his sound from a variety of artists, not least, JB, Hendrix, Joni, L Richard, Santana, The Beatles to name but a few . . .

Yuck,.... that Blur vs Oasis press thing. WORST thing about that whole era was the tune that apprently made Blur 'win' that contest....

Country House.

The WORST song by anyone not in Simply Red or M-People! (or Lighthouse Family)

I totally agree but I feel Graham Coxon didnt get enough credit for Blur's success.
It will be great to see them reunited next year woot!
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Graham Coxon has done alright for himself since Blur. Three solo albums since he left Blur ... not too bad at all.

Can't see the brothers grim splitting up and Liam managing an album on his own!

Both very good songs, i'm gonna go Champagne Supernova though, Noel Gallagher's a great down to earth guy, people just don't like him slagging off all their precious bands, he just says what's in mind, everyone's aloud an opinion
We're here, might as well get into it.
