Want a free ONA Live CD?...

Those of you who didn't join may want to write to NPGMC and complain that you haven't recieved your ONA Live box set yet. Seems theyre so unorganized there you might get lucky and have them send one out to you.

They can't even keep track of who they mailed the first round of CDs to.

If that is based on the fact that the boxed set also includes ONA, it may actually be cheaper for them simply to include a copy in each boxed set rather than track back which members have not received a copy already and therefore organise two different types of shipment.

If thats the case it means that basically NPGmusicclub is one shitty business.

And we all knew that already.

Is there any clear evidence that they haven't kept track? As far as I know, everyone who has already had ONA will have reference to it in their UR ACCOUNT section of the Club. If this is referencing even a simple database, then it would take very little simply to run a report on the database showing only those accounts that did not have ONA declared as having shipped at, say, November 1st. However, they then have to pay someone, presumably at Gage, to check against each shipment of ONA - Live to ensure only those people on the report list get ONA in their box. So they weigh that process against the cost of including an additional ONA in each package. The latter sounds a lot more straightforward to me - and in theory it simply gives some people a second copy which might be seen by some as a bonus!

What they didn't factor in is the apparent loss of (further) goodwill on some people's part who are either:

1. moaning because they will now receive an additional copy!
2 moaning because they will only receive one copy and others will now receive two copies!!

it would cost next to nothing and be very straight forward to keep a database with every fam name in it, and an automated date from when they signed up.

That way, ONA piano cds would just be sent out to those appearing on the database after the cut off point.

It would not be hard, nor cost a lot.

The fact that theyre mailing us all extra copies of ONA is your clear evidence that they haven't kept track. Gage might have their shit together but NPGMC doesnt.

They're taking the loss by simply mailing out extra copies of ONA. If they did the opposite and let the fans take the loss they would get slapped with lawsuits galore.

The whole moral of the story is think twice before doing future business with a club that is poorly run.

It isn't clear evidence. It's just your interpretation of it.

My post wasn't made to provide a defence of NPGMC, but to offer a reasonable possibility of why they decided to ship a second copy. It is very clear to members whether ONA was shipped to them a first time. You look in UR Account. The same information is available to the NPGMC - it is displayed on their website!. Based on that, it is clear that they are still able to track whether a copy has already been shipped, which suggests they decided to ship a second copy for a reason other than they have lost track of who has and has not already received a copy.
The whole moral of the story is think twice before doing future business with a club that is poorly run.
Caveat emptor. Most people exercise that sort of caution before they spend money regardless of whether it is NPGMC 2003. Tell us something we don't know.
