Best Prince show EVER.

it was a long time ago, so my memory may b playin tricks, but does anyone remembr during the tv/radio broadcast of this show, which i think was live around europe, steve fargnoli, P's manager, gave an interview from the dressing room area under the stage during the mid-concert interval ? i only ever heard a sound/radio recording of the interview, so can't b sure that this was the exact scenario, but he talked about how prolific P was, and listed his accomplishments and stuff ?

anyhoo', 4 me, the start of the second half of the show, with P rising thru'the stage and the whole 'rain is wet, sugar is sweet'thing kickin in while he grins his head off, is pure magic, and brings back great memories of seeing the tour.

I've never seen it.
I guess I love Prince based on his heart in the music.
I have had very little exposure 2 visual images of Prince.
My heart follows him anyway.

Best concert I've ever seen. By some distance.

Love that concert too. Although this is somehow the beginning of his in parts annoying medley era. I love his songs best when they are played completely - not smashed in little pieces. What do you think?

Am I still the only one to think that Lovesxy is overproduced , over-rehearsed and just simply boring???

That was a great show. I particularly loved the version of "Lovesexy" (the song) that Prince and the band played on that tour. So much better than the album version imo. I remember there were some added percussion parts that really flavored it nicely. The performance of "The Cross" was epic too.

The Lovesexy shows were taped by a Dutch film crew and if I remember most tickets went on sale in The Netherlands. It was an amazing concert. I was so glad to see it indoors, after the open air shows in Rotterdam; it was meant in the round and indoors; amazing show.

Couldn't agree more, that specific performance is one of his best EVER, period. It's true a lot of shows were very well (???) rehearsed but I still think if you compare something like ONA to Lovesexy there is a LOT of difference.....

I must admit that the tours since 98 did not really appeal to me due to OR the commercial overload OR the jam-like mood it had, which often makes it yucky and/or messy.
I rather have a focused live show comprised of new material he actually WANTS to play and a show where the fans at least get a chance to get close to the stage without having ot pay absurd high prices.

Has it been 20 years already since the greatest show on earth? Now I feel old.
