Ne-Yo is not a hot producer. That's StarGate U should be referring to. Ne-Yo is the one composing the melodies and writing/co-writing the lyrics if he is involved.

And yes, I know Prince's status, and that he can do everything regarding music on his own and does not need any assistance. I am just merely recognizing Ne-Yo's ability to compose hit songs for others if necessary.

Overall though, I think Ne-Yo is naive to believe he will be able to work with Prince after publicly announcing this desire. From what I know, unless Prince makes the initial proposal, working with him in the studio is not going to happen. And with Ne-Yo's equal display of love for Michael Jackson, I know for certain he's not going to get a chance to make any music with Prince, LOL.

no he is not all that,
yes prince's aprrouch to peforming is entertaining,
but while prince is pop artist because of his success,
i wouldnt call prince a pop artist.

even his most pop is too weird and diffrent then regular pop,see purple rain cd.

it's diffrent subject wheater prince is honest about his music or not.
prince was always way too experimental to be pop.

i think if prince is produced by other producer it would took that prince input that makes his music instant recognisable.

he had some bad producing moment like lot of material on emancipation,new power soul rave,but everything else he proiduced is quite good.

Oh lord! Could there be some animosity building up behind the scenes between Beyonce and song writing genius Ne-Yo?

That's the new word on the streets.

Apparently Mrs. Carter is not happy with how Ne-yo discredited her by taking credit for that song he wrote that saved her last album

A source close to Beyonce's camp is telling me not to expect any Ne-Yo tracks to appear on her newest album, which is scheduled to hit stores this November.

It seems Beyonce is still miffed that Ne-Yo discredited the songstress with her last album over a song she tried to take sole credit for "Irreplaceable".

For those of you who don't remember, Beyonce's last album B Day started off slow. Her singles "Deja Vu" and "Ring The Alarm" were slow starters, and their was a fear that Bey's second solo effort might've been a failure. In a last ditch effort the machine that pushes the former lead singler of Destiny's Child, decided to go with the smash hit that was penned by Ne-Yo.

Proud of his accomplishment, Ne-Yo started to tell people that he wrote the song for Beyonce and all she contributed were the melodies. And that's when the sh*t hit the fan.

I've mentioned a few times that tho I appreciate all the recognition that I DO get, I don't feel that I get the recognition that I feel I deserve, mainly because I'm not the dude you'll see with a bunch of different celebrity chics or I'm not on any drugs, or I don't get arrested every 3 days or whatever.

The fact that I'm a fully functional normal human being, makes me, in the eyes of the media "boring". Which is cool I guess, I mean, I'm not about to sell my soul so that I can get my face on the cover of a magazine. Sucks that my music isn't enough to hold the attention of the masses, according to the media.


Well, I have to eat my words as of late.
Just found out that I received 6 (count em') 6 grammy nominations!!!!!
Needless to say, I don't feel very under appreciated
Anymore.

I guess it's about just being patient and letting things happen when they're suppossed to.

I view it like this, people don't pay me that attention because they know that imma be here. I'm here for the long haul, so they say, aaawww, Ne*Yo ain't goin' nowhere. We'll check on him later. And you know what? I'm cool wit that.


In the meantime I'll just keep doin' what I do, making classic music, murdering any stage I touch, keeping my suit sharp, and my hat cocked to the side.

I know he sometimes speaks with A LOT of confidence, but reading two of the examples U posted I just have one question: Why does telling the public the truth about his work equal "running his mouth?" He just approaches PR differently. Solange, for example, is doing the same thing now, as she is very bold when interviewed. you have a point there, Beyonce tends to not give full credit when do, especially when it comes to songwriting, Brandy has the same issue, trying to act like she wrote the songs, so fair enough, but maybe he should have addressed Beyonce one on one instead of in the press first if he didnt take that approach
