I think when you call someone a sinner because of who they love that makes you a bigot. I would have about as much to say to Prince as he would to someone who didn't agree with him marrying outside his race. You have the right to have a bigoted opinion but if you care about hurting another human being's feelings and how you might be perceived for having opinions that are bigoted, then you need to keep that shit to yourself.

I don't think Prince's personal views should matter when it comes to being a fan of his music. I could understand if some of those views leaked into his lyrics but that's not the case. If we all stopped listening to musicians because of their personal beliefs, there probably wouldn't be a whole lot of music left to listen to.

Well I discintivley remember him goin on the Ellen Deranges show (the lesbian) and it seemed he really liked her and they got on! Homosexuality isn't a choice, however I will concede that the choice to actually come out, live a gay life and therefore take a huge step towards a happy, satisfying existence is a 'lifestyle choice'. I need nobody's approval about the way I live my life, however when you've spent 23 years following and supporting an artist who's free spirit and all-loving philosophy gave you much joy when you listened to his music, only to then hear an alleged comment that pretty much says he thinks you're somehow a second-class citizen, it's hugely disappointing. I hope that Prince can clear this up in a satisfying manner. If he doesn't, he'll be tarnished as a bigot. And once somebody's tarnished, it stays for a long time.
