COnfusion Don't log in much, but I do read 1nce to 2wice a week. Couple years ago there seemed to be a return to form. A return to interest. Damn, a return to pride with the current form that he had taken. Now.....the wilderness seems to have returned. I am too old to care what someone says, still young enough to care about the music someone produces.
The whole Prince thing seems too complicated for what you get in return. So many other artists (new and old) provide DMSR and with many there are heavy doses of HWIR (humor wisdom intellect respect). Am I alone or have I had a shitty week? | |

I do find it VERY interesting that your moniker here is "19993121", and maybe U know why I find it so interesting... there is a connection in concept, I believe.
I'm not quite sure where you're going with this, but it sounds like U R concerned with the time that has passed without new music since 'Planet Earth' was released. I'm not sure what U mean by "complicated" with regards 2 "the whole Prince thing", as U put it. There will be new music released... U know he already has more than an album in the can of new stuff. U just need patience, and if U make music yourself, then get 2 it... I get my main musical fix from myself. Please consider the fact that since Prince has been so prolific in his output over the years, that we R a much different breed of listener than those who don't listen 2 Prince. Their favourite artists' releases are often 2-4 years apart, and aren't nearly as challenging, diverse, and rich as a Prince release. We all have 2 come 2 terms with our high expectations. [Edited 12/5/08 6:48am] with planet crap as the last full musical stance and it's been over a year since it's release, i feel that the anxiety is even more higher than b4 4 a flux of new music. no need 2 state the obvious reactions some have had towards that project 2 xplain y this feeling is the way it is .. peace man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
